Re: Bla-bla-bla chat thread of the Guille Addicts
Ok..I'm gonna walk around my school right quick and ask a bunch of people what the Pope's nationality is...
RESULTS!
2: Greece
2: Sweden
1. Polish
2: Italy
6: I don't know
1: German
I would've asked more people, but everyone was looking at me weird.

Re: Bla-bla-bla chat thread of the Guille Addicts
Well, it'd be hard not to know the pope is German when you live in Germany...
Seriously, nothing to be ashamed of, GG. I'd expect more people to know J.-Paul II was from Poland because he was much more famouse and he also was the first non-Italian pope in recent times indeed. I guess most people have seen his real name Karol Wojtyla and know he was from Poland.
But it seems pretty normal to me people outside Western Europe don't know much about the actual pope, unless the pope means anything to them. He's still more a "transition pope" so far.

Well I think it is something you should know it is just general education!

Re: Bla-bla-bla chat thread of the Guille Addicts
I'm sure it's general education in some parts of the world, but it really isn't here It's not that we don't care or have disrespect for the Pope, I really just don't know. I asked a few instructors and they didn't know. I went to a Christian highschool and never really learned anything about Pope John Paul II so, go figure :\ Anyway, I hope I didn't offend anyone
Thanks Fran Isn't that Montcourt in your avatar?
