Re: Commentary at its best
On Polsat Sport Extra during the Nadal-Roddick SF:
(When the camera was showing Elisabeth Shue in the audience)
We want the tennis!
(Describing a good volleyer)
When he charges the net after a serve, he must be like a spark, his legs caoutchouc-like.

Re: Commentary at its best
Who is this new commentator on the world feed? not Robbie Koenig, the American. He's AWFUL.
During the Djokovic/Llodra match, Llodra hit a great lob and one of the commentators called it "magicianal"

They have always had an American or did they import another one.

I bet you $5 he doesn't even know Michael used to be doubles partners with the Magician (Santoro).

Doug Adler is good enough, they don't need another one.

No, it's not Doug Adler. I think Doug Adler is OK. They have 2 new people, Robbie Koenig, who I also don't like, but at least he has tennis experience so he's tolerable (what amused me was his continued and repeated proclamation that Simon would give Roddick trouble, then he barely spoke another word when Andy started winning easily ). And this new guy. Something Skinner maybe? To be blunt, I'm sure he's the worst commentator I've ever heard, makes PMac sound like a top one.

I love Jason Goodall...I think Jason with Doug isn't a bad team. My favorite guy is that guy who does the ATP feed matches, he commentated the Nadal v. Federer in Dubai last year. He's the best. I wish they had him on the world feed.

Re: Commentary at its best
The Sky Sports presenter had a funny line at the end of the Miami final. Djokovic threw his racquet up to an attractive woman in the crowd who held it up smiling, and Marcus said, "Yep, she's going to enjoy herself with that!"

That racket thought it had served its purpose once that match was over, but alas...

Re: Commentary at its best
He's certainly keeping up the honourable Bailey tradition of crass punning well enough - "the Serbanator"? Awful. Something about him rubs me up the wrong way, if he is an example of a real professional presenter, I'd rather have the amateurish Chris back.

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.
Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?
ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.
