He got a wild-card for the Petrobras Cup Masters (Champions Cup), which will take place in Rio de Janeiro from 4th December. He quited the year later (see at:

but he will appear in this tournament according to this new:

He says he is glad to receive the wild-card, to play against high-level players (at this tournament will play the champions of each tournament - Guillermo Cañas (Montevideo) and Diego Hartfeld (Bogota) are already in + the winners of the other three ( Aracaju: Pashanski or Roitman; Buenos Aires -BBAA- and Assuncion + more 2WC's).
According to the news, he WD from the USA tournaments he was enrolled.

This thread needs a bump as Thiago has beaten Moya in the first round of Costa do Sauipe, no doubt the most important win of his career so far.

He felt on ranking mainly cause of personal problems. I know, since I´m from his city.
But now he is coming back!
Alves def Capdeville 4-6 1-6 6-1 7-6 (2) 7-5 and will dace now Fedex.

Thiago will play the Challenger in São Paulo (try to defend his title) in first week of 2009. He is ranked #113 and is expecting some withdraws to get a direct acceptance to Australian Open. If it not happens, he won't play qualies there and will play Challengers. He is going to play Brasil Open, if his ranking is not enough for a direct acceptance, he plays with a WC, organizers assured.
