Re: ~°~Nicolas Devilder~°~
no kidding............... nicolas went through to the quarters after lapentti pulled out, and with him and ferrero remaining in the RR group, he has advanced
this has to be his best result so far in an atp tournament??!! thanks to the wonderful invention of RR

Re: ~°~Nicolas Devilder~°~
nicolas's fans can read more about the story in this post on general:
http://www.menstennisforums.com/show...&postcount=327
apparently nicolas was already on a plane leaving the country when the tournament organisers found him and got him back for the quarters

Thanks for participating in the grotesque death of the RR format, Nico!

Re: ~°~Nicolas Devilder~°~
The whole MTF is chatting about Devilder… What have you been doing guys?! It’s impossible to leave you even for a few days!!!

I’d even say it’s Devilder after all. After a 4 hours 3-setter on indoors carpet 3 hours on clay is a joke. I’ve noticed his matches often go in such a hmm… protracted manner. Though not sure yet what it depends on.

Don’t think it was so funny for Nicolas himself… Yes, this entire story is absolutely ridiculous. But RR or not, quarterfinal is a quarterfinal and it’s going to be a great experience! His rival is Diego Hartfield of Argentina - Central Court and so on. Allez Nic’!

Re: ~°~Nicolas Devilder~°~
Devild’s win over JCF gave me an idea to make a sort of an honours list of Nicolas’ greatest victories. So here it goes:
19 Apr 2004 Monte Carlo (MS) – 1st round def Ivanisevic 4-6 6-2 6-2
5 Jul 2004 Scheveningen (CH) – 1st round def Gasquet 6-0 6-4
3 Jan 2005 Chennai (IS) – 1st round def Baghdatis 6-4 6-7(10) 7-6(5)
21 Feb 2005 Acapulco (IS) – 1st round def Acasuso 6-4 6-4
18 Apr 2005 Monza (CH) – 1/4 final def Djokovic 4-6 6-3 7-5
21 Feb 2007 Buenos Aires (RR) – Round Robin def Ferrero 1-6 7-6(2) 6-0

Re: ~°~Nicolas Devilder~°~
the superfan is back! i know it! i've been waiting
lol at 'centre court and so on'. i'm starting to appreciate the nerves he must be feeling. maybe that's why he ran away may not be the fault of RR misleading him!
good luck nicolas!

Re: ~°~Nicolas Devilder~°~
no semi here, sorry to bring you a disappointing score: 6-4 7-5 to hartfield... who's a local argentine, but don't think he ranks higher than nicolas. an opportunity lost! next time then... perhaps another RR tourney?

Re: ~°~Nicolas Devilder~°~
Hope you all are not too disappointed about the 1/4 final loss. Not that I’m happy with it myself but I think stability – in game and results - is the thing Nicolas needs first of all now. So sudden highs are also not so great on this point.

Last week I saw an article about this story. I’ve liked how it is described there, and it seems to be a great article about RR in general (the only bad thing it’s in Spanish lol). Maybe someone haven’t read it before and can find it interesting too so I’ll leave a link.

A nice idea Well, according my source Devild felt himself not too bad playing on centre court against local guys – at least he looked like that at his match against Brzezicki. No racket throwing or misbehaving

Okej, snakkes i andre tråder
This week Devild plays in Acapulco and he has already won his first round match against Fabio Fognini and made their head-to-head records 1-2. According the scores and statistics it was a really tough match – and another more-than-3-hours one
The second round is against Chela… Well, just wish Nicolas to have a good match.

Ja det er da rigtigt nok...det er da også cool nok at du kan ! Og nu har du så "snakket" lidt med én fra Danmark hehe!
Glad to hear he reached #90 (is he playing in the IW tournament)!?!?

Re: ~°~Nicolas Devilder~°~
yes congrats to Nico on his first round win in Acapulco (and avenging Olivier's loss in qualies to Fognini for me )
and great to see him in the top 100 too!!
it'll be tougher against Chela for sure
and Sophie: he's down to play qualies in Indian Wells, but not Miami because he'll be playing the Barletta challenger instead
