Just popped in to offer a big to all Stan's fans. Although it wasn't perhaps entirely unexpected, given his opponent, it's still painful to digest.

Cheer up guys -- as Clayray rose in 2014, I hope Grassrinka does! He beat former champion Querrey (even though Querrey wasn't playing his best) but I think that he did well and seem to be gaining momentum. I hope he gets as many grass matches as possible.

I've heard Stan had an ankle problem and more recently I heard he was ill. I'm not really sure what the problem is But I hope he gets well quickly.

Woohoo! Stan now in the 4th Round again in Wimbledon, and hope he pushes it to a QF. I am disappointed about his hard schedule, with him having to play 3 straight days if he has to reach the SF. He has a tough one against Lopez but from his statements he seems to be focused to get through here.

Congrats to Stan for his run in Wimbledon! We have seen that with great effort he could play well on grass. I felt he might have a chance if he rested well but the 3-day sched probably drained him (even if some matches were quick). Now he defended the points last year of RG+Wimbledon double but surprisingly the opposite (last year he was QF on RG, 1st Round on Wimbledon but it is vice-versa here) and his 1st Set form is really promising for the HC season. I hope he keeps raking up points because I feel he could surely improve from last year and try to get at least 1 Masters title on HC. Hope for the best the rest of the season!

Question for us fans:
What do you think about the change from Stanislas to Stan in all official draws/rankings/schedules etc.?
It really sounds a bit strange, isn't it... like a manager's voice or hint...

Default Re: Stan's cheering thread

Bumping this after a relatively bad loss against Nishikori. While I am glad either way, Stan seems to be sub-par really. What I am just sad though is that at the 2nd Set he was trying to serve to stay in the Set but failed, then at the 3rd Set he had Set Points fighting to get back in the Set after breaking back but didn't have the 1st serve for it, then lost some points from 4-0 up in the 4th Set TB (although I was glad he clutched it out), then lastly in the 5th Set where I think pushing it to a TB would've helped Stan as he was serving better in the 5th. I mean, I know Stan has bounced back after bad losses, but it is like AO 2013 all over again -- so many opportunities wasted for a win. I guess we could have solace that at least when playing sub-par he at least pushed it to a 5th. Yet, it seems that all of those efforts seem to disappear when it most mattered. That being said I still would support Stan, because I know he could do better than this, and hopefully there might be a time that he could find the groove that helped him be consistent in the Top 10 again.

Yay! Cheer for Stan and the Swiss. They finally are in another Davis Cup final with a chance of finally winning the trophy! Hope Stan stays focus and Fed healthy as the French are going to be tough to beat.

Stan Wawrinka’s 2014: Wins 1st Slam at the Australian Open, wins 1st Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo, wins Switzerland’s 1st Davis Cup. Ok year.

Woohoo! Unbelievable what happened during the year. Sure being a Stan supporter is like watching a drama, too many ups and downs and twists. From his rise in AO, to some questions about his health post AO/pre-IW, some shakiness from IW to MC, his triumph in MC and weird play on other Clay tourneys, to his bizarrely good Grass performance, to his still persisting inconsistency in the US Swing, to his very poor Asian Swing and Indoor performance, and his awesome performance in WTF and culminating in Davis Cup, I might say I think it is more than we asked for last year.
