Do you seriously believe that even that Wawrinka will go toe-to-toe with a healthy Nadal when the latter start grunt him into oblivion even if he was down 2 sets? do think Wawrinka, as first-time Slam Finalist had the mental package to outlast Nadal there, against whom he was 0-12 H2H; 0-28 sets (he was already wetting the pants when Rafa mustered some pluck and went all broke while half-crippled in the 3rd set)?

There's still some people that can't get over the fact that Wawrinka beat Nadal in a Slam final.

C'mon guys, it's useless to discuss about what would have happen if Rafa wasn't 'injured', it's the past, you can't change that.

Rafa fans will never give Stan the credit he deserves for his win. A shame really.

Rafa was injured when Soderling beat him at FO was not he? It is really a shame on him! But it is his mindset which helps Rafa to get over after he is defeated ,That is not going to change ever just because he has already an image of INJURED CHAMPION,

Stan is not the type of guy to do a Djokovic golden season, so he's gonna lose some inevitably.

Yet he's the type of player that can break loose at Slams and do damage, which is the part i like in him.

A win is a win and i don't expect him to do much here anyway. Can't wait for RG though...

I think he needs to control himself in these situations, to reserve energy when needed so he wouldn't be wasted mentally to be vulnerable. He should think that there is more to the tour than just winning a Slam because if that was just his drive (already reaching the top of the game) then he should re-evalute himself IMO. Oh well...I just hope this was enough (plus his IW loss) be alert consistently for the next match -- I think he is just not yet fully ready to be "big".
Yeah I hope he finds the motivation. This is why Magnus plays a big role in that, he needs to help him realize that it's not only about Slams, and that your tennis career is not finished once you get one Slam. If he thinks that way he may just as well retire.

Just stop, he was playing like a man possesed in the whole AO.
Nothing will change that, even if he would never win a match again

He wants more.

But success, Wawrinka has learned, also intoxicates.

"I realized also last year that (the) more I was winning, (the) more I want to win," he said. "Like it starts to be addictive."

It's a very good article about Stan: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...miami/6650695/
