More chances of Nadal getting the CYGS than Noserer reaching a slam final.

On paper. The reality, though, would not be as beautiful.

Apart from perhaps an 18 month period when Fed was much younger and close to his highest level of tennis, this rivalry has been blown way out of proportion. The people to blame for it being so overblown are idiots like piledrive, who cannot pull their heads from their assess to see reality.

Reality is this rivalry is not a rivalary anymore, it's Fed trying his hardest but failing to bend over tamely.

Nadal with a ping pong racket would still beat Federer.

I know the chances of it happening may be are at 2% to 3 %; but can you imagine the hype for this? Would it be a GOAT sporting event?
Hypewise, it would undoubtedly be big. Should set a new record for TV ratings.

Especially if Federer had just beaten Nadal in Cincinnatti, giving people belief it could conceivably happen again.

I can already see the result... Federer comes out on fire, hitting tons of aces and winners everywhere. He wins the first set and starts the 2nd set well... But then Nadal puts together a few great points and gets a break. Federer then gives up mentally, loses confidence, starts missing his serves, hitting home runs on his backhand, dumping easy forehands in the net, and bends over. Nadal wins 4-6, 6-4, 6-2, 6-1.

Why are there still people who can't let go of Fedal matches?

If it were 2006-2011 it'd be a huge sporting event. Now, not so much. The hype machine for a Fedal match at US Open will always be massive, though.

This is an 100% perfect description of Horacio's US Open match against Mannarino. Even got the score right!
