Hit a couple of absolutely beautiful forehands back to back to hold a game that had my jaw firmly on the floor.

Roger will need to be better going forward. Needs better first serve percentage.

I'd never seen Seppi show anger.
He's got a bit of the capybara look about him when he sneers esp. wearing the backwards cap.

Seppi really should've won the first set, can't moan at Federer's performance in the 2nd though, much more fluid and just let Seppi implode. Serve still shocking tho

Very good performance after a slow start. This will boost Fed's confidence.

Probably he was thinking that he should beat this Roger.
Go back to home, stupid mug.

Seppi missed very critical BPs here. He didn't believe he can beat Federer, unlike Delbonis or Brands.

Haha, didn't even realize I predicted it right.

Solid win for Fed. Not always pretty but his net play was spectacular.

You can't really judge Fed anymore because he's inconsistent match to match now. He could come out and play lights out vs Monfils, or he could struggle. Same with vs Djokovic.

Seppi's rage was completely understandable, when you are watching how every second mug beats Fed these days it isn't easy to accept that you can't beat him

Pretty much my thoughts. You can never tell how he's gonna play this year. Sometimes he'll come out and finish a match in near-record time with intimidating winner-to-error ratios, and the next match he'll hardly hit any first serves in, miss most volleys, and shank half his shots. But yeah, the one thing I noticed that was different in this particular match is that his volleys looked awesome. With the doubles he's playing, he's probably more confident up there, with better reaction time. Really looking forward to the singles and doubles tomorrow.
