I am surprised that he doesn't have his own thread here...
Is he one of the next Top 20 player from Russia in 5, 6 or 7 years? I would say YES, he has definitely the potential to be ranked there in the future.
He is 15 years old and was ranked #33 as a junior. For the first time i saw him last month in Offenbach where he reached the SF of an international junior tournament.
Now he is playing Futures and his results are pretty impressive.
Bulgaria F6 - QF (bt. two former Top 1000 players Jotovski and Lamasine, then lost to #454 Bourgue in three sets)
Bulgaria F7 - QF (came from Qualies and bt. Lazov (#606) and lost to Sakharov (#695) in three sets)
Belarus F1 - R2 (will play against K. Gerlakh today)
He is tall for his age, i don't know the exact size but i think he is over 1.80m ....and he is 15 years old...
I can not remember a 15yo guy who nearly beat several top 300-400 players at his first futures he played...ABSOLUTELY impressive.
I am sure in 5-6 years the thread will have many, many replies...
had sp in the second set at 5-4* 40-30* but groth served three bombs in a row to win the game. rublev was broken in the next service game and lost the second set 5-7. but overall a decent match against a player who is difficult to play on indoor courts although moscow is not that fast as it looked.
rublev will play a future in belarus next week then maybe switchting to the challenger tour with couple of indoor challenger in europe.
