Paire did keep it together at the big moments for the most part to his credit, I just can't ignore the way he lost his focus when he got broken back, he got away with it today and was able to refocus but those kind of mental lapses have cost him too many matches and would've cost him the second set today against a lot of players

I mean I have always liked Paire I'm not sure why but he is a very entertaining player to watch because you just don't know what's coming next - on his day he has unbelievable weaponry that is top 10 material (In my opinion obviously) but like you say he has mental lapses which if you want to reach the top must be eradicated from his game, hopefully in the next few years he will mature. Or maybe not but hey ho Tennis would be less interesting without players like him.

For me tennis wins in this match anyway as Paire is the more aggressive younger more talented player

Paire didn't have to do much, Kohli was terrible

He was obviously irritated by the shadows on the court, very odd.
Tough loss to swallow.

Kohli lost earlier 2 weeks in a row. That's not good sign

Kohli

Anyway, not surprising, as I thought this could've been a real tough first match, as we know how dangerous Paire can be sometimes, although being out early 2 Weeks in a row is kinda a let down for Pics.

Paire's forehand needs help. It's such a loopy shot. It seems like 90% of his UE come from that side. His backhand is amazing though. He played well enough here. Kohli's double faults to help him break in the second set though...

Thought Kohli would take this for sure, considering Paire's antics.
