No thread.

Yes, I know.. you are going to say cakewalk draw and yada yada. But there is nothing certain in tennis. Federer has had tough matches in the past in the early rounds here. Federer only played Stakhovsky once back in 2011, and Stakhovsky won his first round match very easily.

I didn't want to open a thread to avoid reading things like draw from hell even though I think at this point at least Dull tards should avoid such comments with regard to Wimbledon.

That said, Federer in 3 easy.

Stakhovsky has no business being in a Grand Slam let alone the second round. Hopefully Fed will give this greedy, whining prick the thrashing he deserves.

Federer in 3. About an hour, max.

The Swiss is remarkable. He must be the only man in sporting history who gets easier matches as a tournament progresses. Its only in the semis and final he meets somebody who can actually threaten him. Unbelievable.

not his fault that his 'tough' QF opponent couldn't make it out of R1. It was the talk of the tourney, and Nadal lost in R1.

Well said man. Nothing is certain. This could potentially be a very tough match for Fed. Stakhovsky is a talented player and his game is good for grass. Fed better be focused.

In all seriousness, Stakhovsky is a mug of the highest order. How he ever won 4 titles is beyond me. He hasn't reached an ATP final in 3 years and he's barely in the top 100. Not to mention he's only made the third round of a slam a handful of times. If Federer doesn't take this in three sets with at least one bakery product, i'd be concerned.

People said the same thing about Darcis before he slayed the dragon in straight sets.

While on the subject of Sergiy Stakhovsky, someone was trolling hard on his wikipedia page:

10 slams and 93 ATP 250's? Crown this man GOAT immediately.

I wouldn't underestimate anybody on the tour (look what happened to Nadal yesterday). Yeah, we joke and this should be an easy win for Fed but maybe when we underestimate a player, we show disrespect to a lower ranked guy. Not everyone can be as good or talented as big 4 divas but still you never know.

I'm pretty sure Fed will take this in 3 easy sets because he looks good, playing well at the moment.

I bet it was Serena Williams. In white characters you can read "you're a loser, a hater, and you're unattractive inside"

This might be a weird coincidence, but the last 2 times that Nadal lost early in a GS, Federer was taken to 5 sets in the next match.

FO 2009 and Wimbledon 2012. I guess maybe players start to believe that since one of the top guys is out, they can do the same thing to other top players. Let's see what Stakhovsky can bring to the table.
