Don't be sardonic. They are infatuated with seeing him lose; that was the point of my post. Of course people like to see certain tennis players win and others lose, but it's gone to the extent where people are perturbingly infatuated with seeing Federer lose and hold his head down in dismay.

The fact is, success in DC is largely determined by what country you come from or play for in the first place, which most players haven't had any control over.

The same applies to Djokovic, Murray etc

I totally understand occasional banter between fans of the players but this site has an absolutely terrible community

It's been a long time since I've actually enjoyed when Djokovic, Murray, or Nadal lose. If they lose, so be it, and if they win, so be it.

That's because you're a true Fed fan and not a bitter butthurt, like guys like Honestly are.

It's a funny state of affairs that's for sure. I think sports fans, like elephants, have great memories and tend to harbour grudges for real or perceived grievances. The list of grievances is long: real or faked injuries robbing an opponent of real victory, MTOs, acrimonious post match interviews and heal sniping, ungracious comments and smack-talk between players, too much of a hug or no hug, a cold handshake or a stepanek handshake, etc.

And it's like this on most sports forums BTW. Our hockey forums here in Canada make MTF look like polite and refined high society.

What I find unfortunate is when members don't recognize when a player is playing within his abilities and label him a mug when he's beat by a better player.

The banter works better when the tards/trolls have a good grasp of English, and can actually throw in clever adjectives and aren't oblivious to irony/sarcasm. It's rarely the case

The majority of the posters in these kind of forums are kids, teens or young adults who are bored in their life and use the sport to have some moment of glory. They can live with their idol and defend him in a childish way no matter what because they have nothing else, and nothing to do in their life. The majority of the sane peoples doesn't waste his time by telling some bullshits to virtual peoples.

But, you have to be tolerant. Some posters here are very proud because they are "popular". To be popular on an internet forum is BIG, isn't it?
