The certainties are Raonic and Dimitrov

the liklihood is Tomic too

the others are all up in the air and frankly a bunch are not even in the ballpark of speculation yet (ala Nishikori, what makes you think he has the stamina to ever win a slam if he can't last a week at a younger age? despite the rumors of tennis becoming better for more developed 'older' players, it only applies to the fit ones.)

No. Just no. Could not be further from a certainty.

Is it actually conceivable that none of them would win a slam? that this would simply be remembered as the 'lost generation' which tennis has skipped over?

I think so, IMO djoko/nad/fed/murray/delpo would win all the slams from now until about 2016-2018, by which point the younger generation after tomic/raonic/dimitrov would emerge. I simply don't think this current lot are good enough, if there was ever a weak generation, they would be it. The likes of safin, federer, roddick, borg, hewitt, sampras, aggassi, nadal, djokovic at the same age were already winning slams, yet none of tomic, raonic, dimitrov, etc have even reached a slam semi, nor have they seriously threatened at either the slams or the masters.

Most of these people are 22-24, which is really not that young, so I can't picture them winning any substantial number of slams, given there's at least one 24-year-old who's objectively better than all of them, which may be enough for the few years they have after the top 4 decline.

The Real question is if these guys can beat 31/32 year old Murray and Djokovic, five years down the road. Most of these guys will be in their "peak years" at 24,25,26.

I don't see Murray or Djokovic retiring anytime soon; maybe in their mid 30's. Even in their 30's, I highly doubt Murray, Djokovic, (maybe Nadal), will be losing to even the peak year "young guns".

Lenders: One thing people need to understand about this so-called weak era is that it was 'weak' for Federer on HC and grass and for Nadal on clay (Federer on clay too Nadal apart) because they were so much better than anyone else, for any outsider the era couldn't possibly be any harder, during 5+ years you had to either beat the best grass/HC player ever or the best clay player ever in every single Slam just to get 1 Slam title.

The gap isn't THAT large, even the new generation being quite mediocre. It all depends more on how Murray/Djokovic will age.

B-Nard to win all the slams and leave none for the others.

Except for Sock, who will undoubtedly snag a USO or two eventually.

Tomic and Dimitrov have made a clear demonstration today. They are not winning slams soon. Murray was younger than Tomic when he played his first slam final and he is the "weakest" of the big four. And Tomic is the youngest of the young blood. they cant do anything until the big guns retire.

At this point in time Djoko and Murray seem to be doing well injury wise. Djoko with a small ankle injury and Murray has yet to have injury to my knowledge . Neither of them have deteriorating Knees and could easily play as long as Agassi.
