Oh yeah, the Artist. Very enchanting movie. Bérénice Bejo's portrayal of Peppy Miller bewitches us like an eastern european gypsy, so be warned if you're the obsessive type, she is that good.

LOL wait till you see my 30 (or 40?) favourite films!

That just reminded me that I had forgotten to include Battle Royale in the list. It absolutely has to be there, so unless I'm willing to go above 30 films, I will have to make some room.

You may have a point about bad dreams, though, because, although I absolutely don't mind movie violence, my bad dreams tend to be about running from people for hours

Oh, and The Artist was absolutely brilliant. I had very high expectations when I saw it after all the fuss, but it was amazing.

"Argo". Great movie, it really deserved the Oscar. It keeps you on the edge of your seat until the last second. Affleck gives a great performance.

"The Collection". If you like gore you will enjoy this one, and the plot is interesting too, not just a filler for all the blood.

After being disappointed by the endings of both Killer Joe & Killing them softly, I went old school and watched two films with terrific endings - Usual suspects & Seven. Film doesn't get any better than the last 3-4 minutes of Usual suspects. Spacey can't half pick em!

Spring Breakers. A wild and trippy movie. It keeps your enchanted in a dreamlike state of hedonistic pleasure seeking. Has a present dark side in the Florida sun. James Franco's character is purposefully ridiculous and is done very well. The Disney girls give surprisingly good performances as well.

Yes, I was very pleasantly surprised with this. Generally good performances, interesting storytelling devices and aesthetic choices, very good movie overall.
