Dunno if he's gonna skip Miami, most probably he will see his wrist doctor and then take the decision

Re: Delpo 2013 cheering thread- Indian Wells next.
Delpo didnt loss this really. He still won in my heart. I mean to still fight off 3 matchpoints is just amazing. I am so proud of him for giving as much as he can in this match. He played brilliantly for a set and a half til he made some silly errors. But overall i am still happy that Delpo got into a masters final. I am very proud of him so proud.
Cheer up Delpo fans he will win a masters i know it.

Re: Delpo 2013 cheering thread- Indian Wells next.
Don't skip Miami yet wait till Thursday and see how the wrist feels . He could make another deep run now that there are only two of the Big 4 playing there.

So proud of Juan. If there's one tournament that defines him as a player, it's this one. Now it'd be great if he skipped Miami or tanked early at least, he needs to get that wrist fully healed for the clay season.

He wasn't really that close. It was a very long shot as soon as we knew Nadal was the final opponent: you didn't expect sliced or low power flat BHs to get it done vs Nadal, did you? It never felt that he was going to win even a break up in the second set, it was just a matter of Nadal finding some better length and the BH would crack.
Anyway, the most important about this tournament isn't the result, but the way he played - namely the variety he added to his game - and the mental strength/fighting spirit he showed. If he keeps this up and fully heals that left wrist, only great things can come of it. But yeah, people shouldn't really see this as a missed chance at all, more like JMDP creating a chance to win an event out of nowhere when he had really no right too, totally outsmarted the two best HC players of the moment.

Re: Delpo 2013 cheering thread- Indian Wells next.
In GM in the thread where the results were posted for Juan and Rafa's Match I was so shocked that Rafa won that I just said "Vamos Rafa " I didn't mention Juan who I also like so I got a bad Rep for my post Normally I will post something like Happy for Rafa but sad for Juan . But I was so shocked that Rafa won I didn't expect him to even do well on the hard court much less win the Final! I think the poster just didn't like Rafa because normally Juan's fans have too much class to do something like that!

Sorry but after winning that first set and up a break in the second I had great hopes. So yes a long shot after playing 2 days in a row and all the exhaustion that went with it. My hope is that he would tank Nadal's games but try to hold his own and win the second set. However I knew it was over the moment Nadal broke back to even it out at 3 all. Defining moment and all that.
And personally I think he deserved to win this title. This is not to distract from Nadal who stepped up and figured out what to do as the great champion and fighter that he is. I do agree that this was a defining moment for JM though.

Really positive tournament IW was. Of course I was absolutely heartbroken, but the positives outweighed the negatives. Hes got a decent draw in Miami so could make a good run here. and then i think he's got a month to rest/see the dr.

He definitely deserved it but oh well, beating the grinding trifecta at the top of the game in back to back to back days was too tough an ask, especially while struggling with pain in his wrist. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of him, far from it.
Here's an encouraging stat for every JMDP fan: in the last 10 matches against the current top 4 - so Djokovic, Nadal, Federer and Murray - his record is 5-5 (2-4 vs Djokovic, 0-1 vs Nadal, 2-0 vs Federer, 1-0 vs Murray), not bad at all, looks a lot more like his 2009 record than his post surgery one. It's an encouraging sign with the clay season coming up soon.
