I'm surprised (not really) nobody asks him about her prenancy. If she's really prenant I mean, nobody notices? Or they're keeping so low profile. Timothee gets more coverage than papa & mama.

That does explain it, why he's so stressed. Baby coming, extra stressful. Last year my sister was pregnant for her 2nd baby and I was stressed for her the whole period. I can imagine how stressful it can be for a husband. BTW, Congrats to the Simons. New baby coming, it's exciting time.

No one reported the first pregnancy (I mean, not French media). We found out when we saw her at Stuttgart courtside watching him played, when she's like 7 mths pregnant then, and it was the German media confirmed that. I think in France, they really do respect his privacy.

I remember that one. Now in the US, he's nobody. We won't have a confirmation soon, then.

Still annoyed! Not every day the tennis gods smile on you with a draw like this. All great match ups, could have gone to the finals. I mean just a few weeks ago he played great. Gosh so annoying!

Yes, wasting a perfectly good draw is very annoying. On the other hand, bcos he was so bad this tournament, I felt it's quite a relief that he actually earned 90 pts . He said in the paper that the high bounce in IW doesn't suit him. He's hoping to do better in Miami. I'm tempted to say that he can't possibly do worse than in IW, then again, he probably can . Since Fed w/d, he'll be seeded 12th and play 5-8 in R16, he has 50% chance of getting a favorable draw in that round. But of course he needs to survive the early rounds to get there. And then after Miami is DC, as usual, i don't want him to get picked. But recent experience told that he actually played well the weeks following DC if he's part of the selected. So in that sense, I don't mind so much if he got called to go to Argentina (as back up of course, he won't be playing no matter). Then again, giving the current situation, Carine pregnant and all, I do think he needs that week off...Ok, I'm looking too much ahead.

Can you post the article about the match?
I would say that Gilles has a 75% chance of getting a good draw in Miami. Delpo, Berdych, and Tipsy are all good match-ups for him which means he'll probably get Tsonga

On L'Equipe website:

In L'Equipe paper:

As for Miami draw, I'm wondering if Rafa will also w/d...if he does, it will be Tsonga/DelPo/Tipsy/Gasquet 5-8, that means 50%. So I just use the worse case scenario to work the probability. If it's Berdych to Tipsy, then I'll be delighted, even if he gets Tsonga, I still think he has a chance, as long as he actually shows up to play of course. Jo hasn't really play that well either, plus Miami is extremely slow.

Yeah, you're right, Nadal probably won't be in Miami.

Thanks for the article. I get what he's saying but he gets these little things in his head and then thinks that he can't win because of things he can't control like the bounce of the court. It's useless and he needs to stop doing this.

Anyway, hopefully he feels better in Miami with his back and can serve better.

Not a bad draw ( I think IW one was better though), but he can lose to anyone if he plays like in California. Flo Mayer is a bad matchup for him, but he ain't playing well atm. Anderson would be really tough if both make R4, but I think he definitely has more of a chance here than in IW.

Mayer has been playing so poorly and the courts here should negate Anderson's kick serve so I'm pretty fine with the draw. I think he could make the QF here with even a slight improvement. Hopefully he doesn't play horribly though because if he does, he could lose to anyone in his section.

Hard to say what is and isn't a good draw anymore for him the way he has been playing lately. I mean, I could realistically see Lleyton Hewitt beating him in the 2nd round if he's playing below average, like crap, or mediocrely because Hewitt played well enough last week to beat John Isner whom Simon has trouble with on a good day.

We'll see I guess. I wish him the best and hope he makes it as far as we would expect of him under normal circumstances.

Gilles, please find a baby-sitter so you can have a good sleep and go practice with someone else other than Timothee

They must have missed Tutu by now. He would be a good baby-sitter.
