How long does it take become GOAT?
How long will it take the next GOAT to achieve GOAT status?
Will something like 04-07 ever happen again or will the next GOAT have to rely on a long career in order to get to the throne?

Janowicz will take 4 years to become the GOAT from now.

There can only be one goat. Do you know what goat means? And the probability of anyone ever surpassing the current goat is very slim.

You mean no 'next GOAT'? How can you be so sure?

Re: How long does it take become GOAT?
I seriously doubt anyone will surpass what Roger did from 04 to 07.

Damn near impossible to repeat 04-07, and 18 slams is the benchmark.

Re: How long does it take become GOAT?
Of course there is no absolute agreement on what it takes to be considered GOAT, but I suggest for most people the balance between absolute domination of the game and domination over a long period.
Effectively just to be number 1 over a very long period is one way to be considered. The other is to be absolutely dominant winning almost every match but without the requirement for the time-frame to be as long. The longevity of Federer as a dominant player free from injury is going to be hard to match. The way to surpass Federer is most likely by being even more dominant.
The dominant the player, the shorter the period required. I suggest a player who wins the grand slam becomes a contender. Win two in a row takes just two years and might get a lot of supporters for a GOAT claim.
But if a player won every match without even being threatened for a calendar year that might be enough- although unless they became injured or retired they would have to keep it up to preserve the image.
