Assuming he remains healthy/injury free, it's a good bet that he will. He should still have at least two more years of his prime ahead of him and, with Nadal (off clay) and Federer inevitably fading, you have to fancy his chances of winning at least another Slam if not more. Things in tennis change very quickly, but as of right now it seems likely that Murray might win another Slam(s) - he's a top 3 favorite everywhere but Roland Garros.

Asking a guy who thought Murray would never win a slam, if he'll win more slams.

Default Re: Q&A With Mark Lenders.

You are such a Messitard, Manuel. I can't say you are wrong though since the guy is very talented but imo apart from Maradona there is a player who had more magic in his left foot than Messi and he had as much raw talent as him but sadly never fulfilled even 10% of that potential.

"Recoba was the greatest talent never blossomed that I have ever seen" - (Cit. J.Zanetti)
Zanetti is 100% spot on here.

Unlike Messi, Alvaro could do ANYTHING with his left foot at exceptional level (dribbling, shooting power/accuracy from long distance, ability to score form almost anywhere, free kicks, shotmaking, passing etc). He also had better techinque than Messi overall. For me he certainly had more magic in his left foot than Messi. Alvaro scored way more jaw dropping goals than Messi even though Messi scored 8765678 more goals than him. He was a specialist at scoring stunning goals (rare kind of a player). The guy scored more than 3/4 goals from corner kicks for god's sake.

Anyway, we have different opinions sometimes and that's a good thing imo. Recoba is my fav player when I was a kid by the way and he is still my fav player until the day he retires. He had the best left foot ever since Maradona imo because there is nothing he couldn't do with his left foot at exceptional level when he is playing at his best and his techinque was flawless. He was insanely talented. Certainly the biggest waste of talent I've ever seen in football. However his youtube videos are always pleasure to watch.

Plus his free kicks were out of this world.

I agree that Recoba is awesome. One of the first football matches I saw live (in the stadium) was Sporting vs Inter in the preliminary rounds of the 2002/2003 Champions League first leg. The match ended 0-0, but Sporting were totally dominating in the first half; then Recoba came into the match for the second half and suddenly everything changed, I remember thinking (although I was so young back then) that he was in a different class to everyone on the pitch.

You could almost say he was the Gulbis of his football generation - an insolent talent.

Nice story, manuel. I really envy you. You saw my fav player live. That's awesome.

Exactly.
GOATbis still have time to change though. Let's hope he breaks the top 20/10 soon.

Who is your 3rd fav among the active players by the way? 1st is Delpo. 2nd is Jo? 3rd is Kei?

He definitely will. As I pointed out yesterday, all signs point to a Gulbovic era

Well, for this one I'll refer you to my reply on MTF's favorite players thread. I like all the first six though, felt a bit harsh to rank the 2-6 area but oh well:

Been following him since he first started on tour and only like him more the more I see of him. His power game is awesome and so is his attitude and the way he got himself back to the top after enduring a major surgery. His forehand is my favorite shot in tennis.

2-Jo Wilfried Tsonga

The best ticket in tennis, there's never a dull moment with Jo. He's by far the most attacking/bold top player today, even in this slow court era, always gives the crowd their money's worth. He's also one of the nicest guys on tour.

3-Kei Nishikori

Love his game and the way he is offensive and proactive despite his stature and power limitations. His backhand is one of the most beautiful shots in tennis, especially down the line. Horrible injuries have derailed him over and over, but he keeps fighting to finally fulfill his potential.

4-Tomas Berdych

His effortless power game is great to watch. He might be inconsistent and frustrating at times, but when at his best he's one of the best players to watch and one of the most devastating.

5-Gael Monfils

He might be a poor competitor, but he's the best entertainer out there for sure. If you can accept that Gael is not likely to ever have the result his talent warrants because he's more of an entertainer than a competitor, watching him is just an amazing experience.

6-Marin Cilic

Been impressed with him ever since he broke through; unlike most tall players, he has a pretty good return of serve and moves amazingly well, even if he might lack power compared to other players his size. He's not the strongest mentally to say the least, but still a great player to follow and one who should have a long stay in the top 10 at least in the years to come.

7-David Nalbandian

Is there anything better in tennis than watching Nalbandian at his best? Amazing talent. That backhand is arguably the most beautiful shot in tennis.

8-Robin Soderling

The benchmark for all-out attacking big hitting, the tour sorely misses his presence.

9-Novak Djokovic

First match I ever watched live was Djokovic vs Gasquet in Estoril 2007 and Novak was the first tennis player to ever give me an autograph, liked him ever since and I'm glad he rose to #1. I don't like his game as much as in the early years, but can't help root for him.

10-Nikolay Davydenko

Like Nalbandian, he's amazing to watch at his best, probably takes the ball earlier than any other player in history and generates insane angles.

Admittedly, the order of the first six was a bit based on 2012's final standings, giving more points to those among the 6 who have a shot of top 3, I love all 6

Not happening. The only question is who will be second, last year the race between Delpo and Novak was incredible, JMDP won by two points.

Bump. Hypothetical question:

If Ferrer was playing Monaco in the Wimbledon final, and you had to root for one player, which would you root for?

You say you root for Djokovic ever since you 1st saw him live. But how come you hate Gasquet when he was also one of the two players you 1st saw?

And why doesn't you favorites list contain Gulbis? He's in my top10 list, but not yours, and you are suppose to be a big Gulbis tard
