Post Edit Bug
Is there any progress with resolving the bug which reverts 'edited' posts back to an earlier version? Or is this something that we will just have to learn to live with for the future on this forum?
It does seem very strange that this bug does not exist on Tennis Forum.

Re: Post Edit Bug
The last time this was bought up scoobs said he keeps reporting this problem and that was all he could do was report it. So I don't guess anything ever was done about it! And since scoobs will be leaving his Admin. Moderator position I guess someone else will have to try reporting the problem and see if they have any better luck getting anything done than scoobs did!

Are users still seeing the posts reverting to earlier edit issue?

Re: Post Edit Bug
I guess the game organizers are best equipped to answer, but I haven't seen it in a while myself.

Re: Post Edit Bug
My sig isn't flipping back and forth on me anymore. But I agree it was really hurting the game managers so it should be checked out with them!

I haven't seen the edit bug since some days ago Hope to know that now it is fixed. Let's see if some people (especially game managers) can say if they noticed the edit bug these last days or not.

These two last weeks some managers that have managed games are purtov45, bry17may, DjokerFan3, Marto, AdeyC, justafanYYC, traddles, LazyKing and Vilnietė. Maybe some of those have experimented the post edit bug for example if they had managed a game one week ago but not in the last three-four days.
Greetings

I was doing Indian Wells the last two weeks - and the bug wasn't an issue during that event for me.

It wasn't 'really hurting' game managers - theres no need to be so over dramatic - it was solved by clicking on the edit and save which when done immmediately brought the posts back up to date with the last update.

This is absolutely not true. Double saving an edited post didn't work. After a couple hours the post was back to the old version. I am absolutely sure as we tried that method in PAW and it didn't work.

It worked in TT - what we had happen was, for example :-
Monday AM - the post wasn't showing updates from Sunday evening - so the edit and save updated it for others to see
Monday PM - the post was still showing the same updates made on Monday
Tuesday AM - the post wasn't showing the updates made on Monday but it was the ones on Sunday
At the time you could click on edit of the post - say it was for the purpose of putting the results into the TT Stats Database or for the guy who does the Live Rankings, Draw Makers, etc - and the updates were still in the actual posting but were not being displayed. All the updated information was always in the posts but for some reason it wasn't being displayed without the second edit and save.
But as I say it's been fine the last two weeks.

Re: Post Edit Bug
I know how the bug worked and the double saving was OK but only for couple of hours. Then the post was reverted back to the pre-edit. As I said we have discussed it in the PAW Managers thread. I am well aware what was going on.
Now it seems the bug is gone as my post in PAW Miami is still showing the SP. Let's see if it is OK later tonight when I place the Q and will need to edit it.

Re: Post Edit Bug
After doing the edit and save on a post that hadn't updated for all to view - I never ever experienced it reverting back to anything prior to that point.

Re: Post Edit Bug
Maybe you didn't but others did so don't make a conclusion it didn't bother game managers. There are other games on this board besides TT and I know for sure that edit bug was a big problem for PAW.
So Mae wasn't "over dramatic" at all, what she wrote was the truth.
