Another statement that makes no sense at all. Has quite a lot to lose if his knee is still dodgy. Why jeopardize his clay season?

Everyone knows why they're all scared of going to Miami.

BTW, shame on Marca for spreading false news.

seriously, Marca is not a tabloid and Rafa's PR team is just silly ... so much controversial information. it's turning out to be a major joke IMO. Nadal lost all of my respect. knees might be fine or not, or maybe ... either play or don't ... as simple as that, make up your mind.

I expect he'll skip Miami which makes sense. He can skip one Masters anyway. Would then give him 3 weeks before Monte Carlo.

I'll believe it when I see it. I'm still maintaining my theory that he won't play on HC again.

Re: Nadal will skip IW and Miami UPDATE - confirms will play IW
Nadal never said he was skipping either. The idea that he "changed" his mind because he won is silly. He said throughout that he hoped to go but he was taking everything a match at a time. It all depended on how the knee coped with competition. This week the knee has felt great and the pain has not limited his movement. He's not sure how hard courts will impact it but his feeling is that he should play on so he is following that. The idea that he shouldn't listen to his body when it is in a transition phase - getting used to competition again after 7 months, is an odd one.

Re: Nadal will skip IW and Miami UPDATE - confirms will play IW
The fact that Rafa is playing IW has nothing to do with winning Acapulco. He just feels that his knee is responding fine.

a) Marca is not a tabloid? Have you read it? It's hardly investigative journalism. It's a sports daily and Nadal's PR and Nadal himself BOTH denied the story when it was published. The fact that you blame Nadal for a Spanish tabloid story is your problem, not his.
b) As for Nadal losing your respect - I'm sure he's devastated. He said all along he was hoped to play but he hadn't decided. He was taking each match and each tournament at a time. The guy didn't play for 7 months! Not odd to wait for his body's response to all the matches he's played.

I know he is devastated ...Rafa phoned me today 10 times trying to tell me what his knees are saying etc (he thinks the secret is in his knees, but I don't understand) ... too bad I have other things to do .
bye Rafito, Tomic is winning RG this year

Re: Nadal will skip IW and Miami UPDATE - confirms will play IW
It wouldn't have suprised me if he found a way to skip IW-Miami had he not had a successful clay comeback. Because his primary focus is RG.
But now he feels confident again I am again not suprised he is playing IW and Miami because he has nothing to lose and points to gain plus a chance to assess his form against the top guys.
