I've seen a couple of sets from him (vs Berlocq, Zeballos Alund and Nalby) and I must admit he runs on clay as if he were running on eggs.
No sliding at all.
Sao Paulo clay was awfull (a bit like DC tie in Belgium) but I am not sure it was the only reason.
IMO, he could not be so cautionous on clay and then decide to play on hardcourt.
But I was so often surprised by Team Nadal decisions in the past.

Toni Nadal has denied that a decision has been taken on that for Nadal so far.
I think Blake and Smyczek may have a wild-card as they both withdrew from qualies and they could be good candidates for wild-cards.

Yeah probably, I don't really like the Johnson WC when Williams has been playing better than him.
