Re: Vasek Pospisil
Yeah, must be the up and down energy levels he must have, recovering from mono; cause he looked good against Frank in a close loss, and in beating Donskoy (at least judging from the score, stats lines). Guess for DC you go with Frank and Jesse, along with Daniel and Milos, in case he has a low energy day (and where Frank and Jesse are both solid doubles players, better singles players now). But that's still over a month away.
might have been better to wait a little longer before coming back
mchale had mono too and came back to soon, she's getting back into form now but i wonder if its really worth having a bunch of bad losses on tour if you cant play properly yet
I think it was maybe a bit more than that, I know though, I reported it, but he's obviously recovered cause he's back playing now, it's been said in the news, so I don't want to here talk about this again.
The reason is probably that he just isn't match fit yet, so these losses will happen early on.

Oh, and why do you think that he isn't match fit yet?

ar we sure he's ready? he might not be 100% over it. mono does last for a couple months usually and even after your done the virus can stay in your body afterward so he might not be totally over it yet but decided that since he can practice he might as well give things a try
Rainer Schuettler is one of my favourite players and his mono was not diagnosed for several months while he played. during that period of time, he was OK for a week or two and no energy at all the other. At that time, mono was that well known among players. Even he had a minor case, it still took months after the diagnosis for him to get back close to his previous energy level.
So I was surprised that Vasek was back to play in such a short time and not surprised he played well for a week or 2 and then badly in the next.

You are saying he's not recovered from it, but he wouldn't be playing and it would not be in the news that he has recovered if he had not.

He's probably not recovered fully, but in a non-contact sport, you can play long before you are fully recovered when you have mono.
Not saying your wrong, just going by what has been reported, and the report is he's fully recovered, it doesn't make sense to come back if you aren't fully recovered from mono, it's a waste, for tennis you need energy with the amount of practice/play that goes into it, doesn't make sense, especially since it's a solo sport and you can't rely on others if you have a poor performance.
