I think posts like this should be a banable offence.
I'm sure I'm at least 2% stupider for having read it.

He was the charismatic player that many sports have, but sadly wasn't able to have the career like Sampras had. Federer is kind of hard to say. Obviously being so in-tune with this generation, it could be easy to say Federer, and many people who don't follow tennis definitely know who Federer is. Obviously all are stars, but to say "the biggest" really hard to say. I'll say Agassi though.

Fed...and it's not even close. The biggest tennis crossover star ever and in the very top tier of most globally recognised figures.

This.
Ignore Fishface or whatever that double account's name is. How illiterate can you be? Read the first post: it's about star power/name recognition, etc. It's fine if you don't like Federer or if you don't think he's the greatest of all time. But that's now what this thread is for. We have dozens of threads for "who is GOAT" or whatever.

Re: Biggest tennis star in last 40 Years
Has to be Borg IMO.
Americans always overhype their players, might as well have included Roddick in the poll.

Re: Biggest tennis star in last 40 Years
Taking the difference in media coverage especially after the World Wide Web into account, I voted Borg.

Very funny. Sampras was also incredibly boring, both on and off court. People not interested in tennis hardly remember him. Everyone remembers McEnroe and Borg.
