Re: M.Muzza.M Chat - Meltdown in Melbourne!
I'm really disappointed and quite angry that he won't be representing Great Britain in Davis Cup for our Euro-Africa Group I tie with Russia in April. That's three in a row that he's skipped, now.

^I'm disappointed that he won't be playing until Indian wells.
Good that he's continuing the training, really needs to work on endurance to get to the desirable point.I actually wish he'd somehow reach n1 and stay there for a couple of weeks just to rustle the haters' jimmies.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat - Meltdown in Melbourne!
I understand his lack of desire to play Davis Cup. Not only does Great Britain lack a solid no.2 singles player but by the time you factor in the training the team does in the lead up to the tie, the tie itself and the travelling, it's about 10 days which he could be training with Lendl in Miami. Why would you waste a training camp for some poxy Davis Cup tie where at best they'll scrape a 3-2 win over the tennis powerhouses lingering beneath the surface of the world group, only to be knocked out in the world group play-off and sentenced to another year of almost qualifying.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat - Meltdown in Melbourne!
I too wish he was playing DC though I also understand why he's skipping it, a world group play off win - unlikely and a world group tie win - almost impossible. Not playing Dubai is unexpected.
Stupidly I thought I'd read the thread about the AO final, read about five pages. I find it difficult to understand how Andy 'won the USO'12 because of the wind.' Djokovic was only affected by the wind in 3/5 sets? The wind only affected one player? GM will fry your brain quicker than smack.

Why is Murray skipping Dubai?

To train with Lendl for a month in Miami. He said he was jetlagged last year playing in Indian Wells after going deep in Dubai.

Can't blame him especially this one. Ross being out weakens the doubles options and there's no 2nd singles. Unlike Federer who has Wawrinka for back up and still leaves him on his todd to take the flak if the Swiss lose.

Woulda liked to see him vulture Memphis' 500 points to keep him closer in touch with the top 2 personally.

I don't think he completely ruled out a tournament during February but Delray Beach and Memphis are the only two he'd go for being close to where he is. Although playing Delray Beach would leave him only 3 days between the 3 week period of Indian Wells and Miami.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat - Meltdown in Melbourne!
I think he should go for Memphis as it's same amount of points as Dubai, closer to Indian wells so should rule out any jetlag problems and he would still get a one week rest before IW.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat - Meltdown in Melbourne!
He isn't in the entry list in Memphis or Indian Wells! So next up seems to be Miami. I guess he will do his training in Miami and stay right there for the Tournament.

Re: M.Muzza.M Chat - Meltdown in Melbourne!
I hope his decision works out but I can't help but think 500 points were there for the taking in Memphis- every little helps when you're aiming for #1

He's on the entry list for IW as far as I can see.
