Meh, Tipsy can certainly play offense and he's very comfortable at net. I'd call him all court, but you can make a case for many types of play with him. I don't take much issue with that one, and Djokovic is close, though I'd say more offensive

Ferrer more defensive than Murray or Seppi is certainly not true, but no shock there.

Default Re: Current Top 100 by playing styles

Figured I'd redo as some player's styles have changed a bit- some players have improved consistency by getting more defensive (eg Giraldo, del Potro), some have coped with aging by getting more offensive (eg Montanes, Robredo) and players have moved in and out of the top 100. This is by how they most regularly play- Del Potro controlled points vs Djokovic at Wimbledon when they met and is capable of hitting the ball as hard as Berdych or Tsonga, yet typically is the more defensive of the two. I have removed "pusher/junkballer" as a category and made junkballer a small separate category and lumped the rather small group of true pushers in with defensive baseliners.

I'll classify as (in order of most to least offensive) Serve & Volley, All court, Offensive baseliner, Grinder, Junkballer, Defensive baseliner- This isn't always true; for example, Dolhopolov is more offensive than Nishikori

Some players it depends heavily on surface (Granollers is all court to serve & volley on hard & grass, but an outright pusher at times on clay) but I'll go with the most common one

So "All court" is now a new word for "servebot"? Looking at Raonic, it can only means that...

You know, I actually considered pretty much all of these. On my old one, I had Niskikori is an offensive baseliner, he's borderline IMO- as is Djokovic. Monty has started coming to the net an awful lot, and his always plentiful drop shots are reaching Janowicz level. Lorenzi likes the net too much to not mention it I think, though he does generally defend on return. I just plain screwed up on ERV, that's what I meant to make him. Only one I truly disagree with is Querrey

And as for "So "All court" is now a new word for "servebot"? Looking at Raonic, it can only means that...", well I didn't have a "servebot" category

He and Stepanek both are questionable, I admit. But that category needs more than like 2 people

I have now gotten 4 PMs from the same user all criticizing me for calling Simon defensive and claiming he is more offensive than Tipsarevic and Andujar

You claim I should not call Simon a defensive baseliner, yet you think I should call Andujar, a far more offensive player, one? Tipsarevic is an all-courter for the most part, albeit lately a pretty shitty one.

Simon is a defensive player, predominantly. Only a naive one would argue with that statement.

Andujar actually has a bit of pizazz about him, and while he's not the most offensive clay-courter around, he deserves his place in that category.
