I thought a challenger in his home country would help him to find some confidence. Especially after another injury. And I didn't expect he would play Davis Cup on clay...

Guez and Sidorenko got the last two WCs (given by the tournament, Michon and Marie WCs were given by FFT ).
Michon and Marie are "local" players, not exactly from Cherbourg but from Normandy, Sidorenko has a kind of contract with the tournament and is invited every year.
Guez is the highest ranked Frenchman not getting in directly (Teixeira and Devilder are in the main draw, and Olivetti is not yet ready to play.)
