Not an upset to me. Bozo is a very good indoor player with a huge serve. He is an enigma to me. Watch him play and the talent is obvious. Don't be surprised if Bozo wins a round or two in the main draw. The Qualifers placements are favorable with the exception of Zemja.

Pretty much as I called it (although I would never have picked Veger).

Ilija has had a great start to the year, J99, and Matteo has been pretty dreadful. Bozoljac is also more talented than the Italian, but his mind hadn't been in the game for a long time until now. It's good to see him back and I agree that he could win a match or two.

LL Viola vs. Klizan

I'd pick Bozoljac, Berrer and Petzschner to win their matches.

Yeah, he's had a great start.... in Futures, I don't care how talented you may be, if you are ranked 379 you just aren't that good, all the talent in the world doesn't mean anything if you aren't willing to maximize it.

Viola hasn't been that bad, should still beat Bozo.

I'm maybe a bit surprised that Bozo is actually the favorite there, the bookies are weird sometimes, we'll see, I hope Veger can win his match.

This just makes no sense. Ilija was ranked #101 at one point and would have made it to the Top 100 if he wasn't one of the biggest headcases on tour. He furthermore excels on the fast surfaces (indoor, grass), where Viola isn't as comfortable.

Prior to the start of the year I would have agreed that Bozoljac wasn't going to qualify, but the very fact that he was willing to get his act together in Futures - where he has often lacked the motivation to even try - signals that his head is in the right space. Ranking is irrelevant here.

How does it not make sense, if you are a headcase then you are ranked where you should be if you aren't willing to maximize the talent like I said, I know Viola doesn't usually have success on HC, but he has had some, like he qualified for this very event last season.

My point was that Bozo was beating Futures level players, so it was a low level, so I would not be thinking that no matter how well he did at that level, it still would not be good enough to go from that to qualifying for an ATP event.
