Well, I always put real life in brackets.
The guy had like 70 000 plus posts on here. Thats a pretty big part of anyones life.
Id say we would have seen very much of someones personality over that time. But thats just opinion.
Kind of like being drunk. You talk some shit, but most of it's true, just what you don't normally say because of inhebitions or nervousness or whatever.
I guess we will never know for sure. But I consider my wager a good bet.
It's real life in the sense you are a real human breathing oxygen typing on a real keyboard with real fingers. Less of it is virtual than you realise.

Re: RIP Scotso
This sad news deserves my comeback just to show my sadness together with the rest on MTF. Does anyone know what happened to him?

Forums such as these, really are a glimpse into someones soul. A glimpse that we should feel privilaged to see because quite frankly, most people, at the very least when they come here, probably have no one from "real life" on the website, so they are totally inebriated from regular stigmas and nervousness and can no doubt say whats really on their mind in a candid and funny way. It's a huge vice and relief for all of us.
If many doubt this, go and look at the picture threads, or the Mister/Miss MTF contests. Most people don't want to put their identity on here, or at least are very reluctant for a long time. You can be sure that the vast bulk of feelings anyone shares on this site, probably never get heard by many if any in their actual lives.
It's always sad when something like this happens, but alongside the sorrow we can rejoice in knowing all of us, one way or another, either through what we said to them or what they read us say to others, played a big role in the feelings and emotions of every ones lives here. Don't think for a minute that because you don't get a reply or a good or bad rep that every post you ever make isn't consumed and taken in by hundreds of people at the least. When you think about that across the globe and every site we contribute to, we really have huge power to influence a great many.

Re: RIP Scotso
MTF has been an important part of my life for almost ten years. in the middle of fights, threads, bans and reps, you get to know very interesting people. He was one of then *sigh*.

Re: RIP Scotso
OMG. He was one of the most frequent posters in my first two years on this forum. I remember him as KarolBeckFan and then MatejBockoFan, back when he use to post frequently in GM. Then he won ACC (which he certainly did NOT deserve) and resided more in the sub-forums and chat threads.
I hear he was still young which is such a tragedy. He'll always be a part of this forum. RIP.

I wasn't sure that I knew the person who has obviously touched so many but I see that he went by KarolBeckfan at one time and I remember seeing his posts. Such sad news. Thoughts for his family & friends.

Re: RIP Scotso
Back in the day I remember fighting with Scotso often over Roddick. Over time it developed into a grudgingly mutual respect after we found at least one player we could agree on (Djokovic).
Sad to hear he has passed away much too soon. Condolences to his friends and family.

Re: RIP Scotso
Scott and I talked frequently about 5-6 years ago and is one of the few posters here I had contact with outside of this forum.
At the time I was coming to terms with my sexuality and while it was too scary to discuss certain things with my family and friends, I found a sympathetic and helpful listener in Scott.
I'm devastated to hear the news of his passing. His young age and the fact that he recently was married makes it incredibly tragic. There's more I want to say but I can't quite find the right words.

Re: RIP Scotso
Oh Scott!
Wow, in all of his names he had been absent here a long while but not forgotten. I often wonder what happens when people stop posting in forums or when they pass away...
As another Roddick fan it is interesting that we were connected on here years ago, even friendly, but I'd like to think one of his gifts was making connections with those who thought or believed different things than himself.
