Should DC have best-of-three?
I was wondering about what if DC had Bo3? Here are the pros I can imagine for both formats:
Pros of Bo3: - Bo3 is better for TV, long matches can mess TV channels' (and viewers') schedules
- DC ties aren't about one match but about five matches
- DC weekend is tough, especially if you play both singles and doubles. Bo3 would make it easier and big names wouldn't skip it so easily. Also, teams without different singles and doubles players wouldn't get so big advantage.
Pros of Bo5: - Bo5 reduces the effect of luck
- Bo5 gives more to watch at the arena. Two singles Bo3 matches or one doubles Bo3 match would be too little for the in the arena.
I love DC with Bo5 but think it would be fine even with Bo3. But what are your thoughts.

i don't think it's the fact they play best of 5 is the reason for some players not to participate.
The main reasons for that (and i think there aren't too many missing actually) would be - changing the surface during season, quarrels with the TA, quarrels with team mates, or simply injuries.
I believe the bo5 makes this competition special and it's good as it is.

No, the only problem is the scheduling after major tournaments, and that was fixed this year if I recall.
