Will be very keenly watching the speed in 2011, though I doubt it will matter. Djokovic is just too good.

quite an oversight from MTF indeed.
How much can they slow it down for Rafa this year?

All that is needed is a top American tennis player who would benefit from a slower court

Re: How long until they start slowing down the courts at the US Open?
^Didn't know about that... It actually goes way back, too:
"You don't have these American hardcourt tournaments which are just unplayable from the baseline, unreturnable," says reigning U.S. Open champ Roger Federer. "Everywhere you sort of get into the points. It's actually quite slow now."

What makes you assume that a slower surface would automatically favor Nadal? He has actually done better on the faster hardcourts in the last 12 months.

Re: How long until they start slowing down the courts at the US Open?
Actually US open was slowed down too, twice if i am correct- or at least twice - 2004 and than i am not sure second year. But it looks fast, because others were slowed down even more.

Re: How long until they start slowing down the courts at the US Open?
They said they speeded it up for 2008.
2010 had the highest serve stats in a while, because it was very hot in the opening rounds.

Ahh, that explains why Garbage Vill E managed to take Nadal to two breakers in round 1

Re: How long until they start slowing down the courts at the US Open?
Can someone please tell me how they can slow down courts in the first place? Like, Wimbledon isn't using different grass or anything.

They can alter the texture to change height of bounce and so forth
