Frank's best tennis and Almagro's best tennis are very close. I'm assuming Almagro play his average tennis then Frank wins.

The reason Almagro is so much better ranked is because Frank does this maybe once per year. Then he becomes just plain Mug Dancevic again.

Uhh, you might want to watch the match. Dancevic's level right now would beat most guys on tour and pretty easily at that.

Yes, but Almagro wouldn't be so tactically naive to allow Dancevic to play this well. Granollers has been the architect of his own downfall in this contest, just feeding Dancevic chance after chance after chance, and not really trying to stifle the rhythm of the match, which would play into Spain's hands more.

true, but what I mean is his top level is the same. The way he's playing now and the way he played when he beat all those players is pretty much the same

Roddick win was good, fair play. He beat baby Del Potro, hardly a big scalp. He beat Verdasco before he boomed, Nalbandian in the first round at Wimbledon which isn't so hard. Is beating Kohlschreiber really that impressive? Yes, lots of players take sets off the top guys occasionally.

Fact is, over a ten year career like Dancevic's, if he was really capable of this god-like tennis that you claim he is, he would have beaten better players than you've mentioned. I just don't see it.
