I repeat : Del Potro is not better than Tsonga, Berdych and Ferrer, this is truth. Del Potro has not reach a semi-final in a Grand Slam since 2009 US Open !

Any post implying in any way, shape or form that Del Potro is not better than Ferrer should be disregarded as poor trolling. Let's not feed the troll

Re: Who is the early favorite for Roland Garros 2013?
Since 2011 Australian Open, Ferrer reached SF in a GS four time, Tsonga twice and Berdych once. What about Del Potro ?
Since 2011 Australian Open, Ferrer beat one player in Big Four (it's tough to consider Nadal in 2011 AO as a Big Four member, because he was injured), Tsonga one, Berdych one. What about Del Potro ?

huh? what are you talking about ? Wawrinka who played out of his mind at the AO?
Clay being fast? I thought this thread was about RG.
back on topic. It's not too complicated. Healthy Nadal is a favorite, but nobody knows in what shape and form Rafa is. Djokovic and Fed will be main conteders for the title if Rafa is not OK.
although when I think about it again, hm ... Tomic the GOAT, if he feels like it

Re: Who is the early favorite for Roland Garros 2013?
Well, it's true Del Potro is a best tennis player than Ferrer, but the Spaniard is before him because of his physical capacites. In a Grand Slam, Del Potro has not reached a Semi-Final since 2009 ! More than three years ago ! It's huge...

They have got better Slams lately because JMDP had his progress derailed by wrist surgery. Even if we assume he'll never get back to what he was on a consistent basis, he's still far more likely of getting hot for a few matches and take a Slam than Ferrer, whose potential is far more limited. He's also more likely to do that than Tsonga and Berdych (although not by as much) everywhere but grass, especially on clay.

Re: Who is the early favorite for Roland Garros 2013?
lol at 8 votes for Del Potro. Now we all know he'd be dominating the tour and taking 3 grand slams a year if it wasn't for THE WRIST, but the simple matter is, THE WRIST is still a factor. Come on guys, he may be the playing-with-a-wrist-injury GOAT, but yet again, he's not making the semis.
He's also the 'dorky headband' GOAT as well, though maybe that one's more subjective.
The answer is Djokovic, by the way.

Amazing how you're far closer to the truth (although still very far) when writing posts that are supposed to be ironic like this one than when you're being serious

Yeah LOL, I was thinking about this today. It is very likely that Murray will become #2 seed at RG since Fed is skipping Miami and needs to defend a 1000 points at IW.
Only I have a different scenario for those draws. I can see Novak taking out Rafa in a 5 setter, losing to a fresh Federer in the SF. Murray getting revenge against Ferrer and beating Federer in the finals.
How horrible would it be for tennis if Murray won RG! ewww...

Federer would have a big edge over Andy on clay.
This Slam should be wicked though with Rafa at #5 or even 6 or 7.

Big edge. Murray 2.0 will be too much for the old man on clay

There is absolutely no way Murray would beat Federer in a best of 3 on clay. Any other surface Murray can win. But at RG? I'd have to see it to believe it.

Federer hasn't the ground game anymore to hit through him anywhere but fast courts. I think Murray would rather play Roger on clay than any of Ferrer, Delpo, Berdych types

Well yes, the match-up alone would probably make things a little more favorable for him against Federer, but I still think the surface gives Federer a slight advantage.
Like I said, I'd have to see it to believe it. It may not be as NID as I originally said, but I have a hard time believing that Murray could win; Murray has yet to convince me that he can do major damage on clay.
