Ferrer is good on hardcourt though He'll probably still be the best player at it, unless some of the other Big 4 decide to randomly play there.

You just confirmed the Big Four is Djoko, Fed, Muzz, and Ferru. Rankings after AO won't lie.

Ferrer is not good on any surface. It makes no difference on what surface the tournament is played as long as the weak field and the Mickey Mouse venue are there.

The clay courters have not lost out. The South American swing still contains 3 ATP 250s and an ATP 500. The only difference is that the 500 is in Rio instead of Acapulco.

Effectively Rio (new tournament) takes over from Acapulco, which in turn takes over from Memphis, which in turn takes over from San Jose (tournament scrapped).

Are there any news about 2015 ? they will necessarily be quite important changes in the calendar as Wimbledon will move from one week.

Besides, so many bullshits said in this thread ...

1. Rio is an ATP500 and Memphis is an ATP250 not "because the ATP sanctioned Memphis and downgraded it" but because one or two years ago, IMG and a Brazilian Billionaire bought the licence for an ATP500 tournament from the guys who own San Jose and Memphis. Those guys decided to keep their remaining ATP250 tournament in Memphis : that had been known for more than one year.

2. Delray Beach is not affected : it's been changed to the week before Acapulco, and there's no "change for vultures" : the coherence of the European/northAmerican/southAmerican swings are exactly the same as now, except that there's one less tournament indoors, which unfortunately has been a long trend of the ATP Also the claycourt ATP500 is now one week earlier, and the NorthAmerican ATP500 is now in the same week as Dubai.

3. Bogota's case is nothing strange : we had also known for months that they had bought the licence from Los Angeles, which explains their position in the schedule ... already for this year 2013, actually.
