Depends on Nadals injury. If his knees can hold for a couple more years I really doubt it, he will end up winning a couple more but if his return doesn't work out and he has to retire then obviously yes.

If Nadal has to retire Nole might even surpass Federer. There is no real competition for the next years until Nole decides to quit so he can collect 2 a year easily imo if he plays 6 more years he can pass 17 slams. If Nadal is done clay is Nole's for the next 6 years no one can touch him there + Australian Open which is his too imo don't see anyone else who can compete so you have nearly 10-12 slams there and he'll win Wimby too at least 1 or 2 times more and USO too so really with Fed being done and Nadal injured this could happen.

No one can stop Nole at this point. The only one who can compete the best with him is a healthy Nadal.

Sorry mate, but how old are you?

You can't know the future in a such long term. Who knows? Novak could never win another major, he could lose a step in 2 or 3 years and all these players who came close to winning against him (ex Tsonga at RG, Wawrinka in this AO) will potentially beat him.

Federer longevity is an anomaly. It's extremely unlikely that Nole will win 12 others slams.

At Nole's age, Federer had 10 slams and Nadal 11. Murray will annoy him for many years, that's for sure. Tomic can very well improve his game and it's very likely that some youngsters will be able to beat Djokovic when he will be slower. At RG, he will be 26, he's not that young anymore.

Nadal could win RG playing with only one leg as sad as that is.

OK, Nadal is clearly superior clay court player, but do you honestly believe that Nadal will just start playing awesome tennis? If there ever was a time when his RG crown was in doubt, this year is it. It will take him quite some time to get match fitness required (after such a long period of inactivity) against elite players, even on his beloved clay.

Djokovic main goal is not the 17 slams mark (which could be even higher), but the French.

If he doesn't want the French this year, it could turn in an obsession, like Federer before.

Who is going to stop him at this point ? (if Nadal retires).
Fed is nearing the end, Nadal seems to be done as it pains me to say it.

His only threat is Murray from now on. If he plays 5 more years he's clear cut favorite for RG and AO and a favorite for USO. If he only takes 9 slams from those 5 years he's there. He might even nick 1 or 2 Wimbys by then.

I'm not saying ''he will'' but that it is a possibility.

If we assume Nadal is done and Fed won't be a big threat because of age in the future and Djokovic will be healthy for say 5 more years...who is seriously going to challenge him at RG and AO ? Please don't say Tomic lol, these youngsters won't reach that level. Tsonga, Wawa are also getting old. Honestly do you really believe someone will challenge him at RG and AO ? That's 2 slams EACH YEAR where he is the clear cut favorite. No other player comes even close. It's not out of reality to think Nole can't win 6 slams in the next 2 years (if he stays healthy and Nadal is done). Even if he loses out on HALF of the slams where he is the clear cut favorite he can still end up with 14+ easily. A lot of this depends on the competition.

As long as he wins 1 slam per year, I really don't care if he surpasses Nadal or not.

I'm pretty sure for the next two years Nole is going to win at least 2 slams per year. That will make it 9-10, very likely. After that he can still win 1 a year. So in 4-5 years he could have 13 slams.

Nope don't think so. Nole is going to be 26 come RG. Reakistically I think he only has 1-2 years of dominating the tour.

During those two years I can see him MAYBE nicking a RG, a USO and an AO. That leaves him on 8/9 slams. Perhaps add in another AO making it 9/10 slams. By then he will be 28. Add a slam or two for Nadal and I don't think it's realistically possible Nole will probably get 1/2 slams max after 28 I THINK. So he will run Nadal close but won't catch him or even surpass him. Maybe catching upto him could happen if Nadal doesn't find any form upon his comeback.

My silly prediction last year was that Nole will retire with 12 slams. Assuming he does so, I think given Nadal has 11, Nadal will fall around 14 given he's young as well and Roland Garros almost guarantees him at least one slam per year if he's healthy to participate. 12 for Djokovic, 14 for Nadal. So no.

That is bound to end sooner or later. Meanwhile, Novak hasn't got the hardcourt slams locked down right now, much less the other two. Rafa still reigns at RG (although it will be very interesting to see in what shape he returns to tennis), whereas both Fed as well as Muzza can beat him at Wimbledon (and to a lesser degree, at the USO too) I'd like to see him overtake Rafa, but it is too much I fear.
