Yes, being a woman comes with hugging and touching privileges. Still they don't do all that much of it up here. After my mother died, only one colleague offered me a touch for consolement. And I have really a lot of colleagues. The exeption is a Notherner. People in the North of Norway are traditionally more likely to touch each other.

I don't think anyone else will react, so it's not unacceptable, but somehow it feels strange for two men to hug.

I thought as much. Somewhat colder than here. We haven't seen -30. In fact, we haven't seen below -20 for years. -10 to -20 will happen a bit, but 0 to -10 is much more common. Above 0 will happen occasionally, for short periods, just enough to melt the snow which then becomes ice the next day.
