Andreas in the 4th round of Australian open

He plays inconsistent Chardy which is a great chance for his first quarterfinal of a grand slam.

I would normally be more nervous about him blowing such a big opportunity to reach a GS QF, but the circumstances really change everything. It has been an extremely positive tournament for him, not just because of the great physical display and effort to get through two consecutive draining matches but also from the mental side, should do wonders for his confidence looking forward to the following challenges in the season. Plus it isn't just a prove of his great fitness and fighting spirit, level wise he's been having some awesome moments of extremely high level of play.

Win or lose against Chardy, very proud and hats off!

Yes, Gulbis is just a monster at the moment. Winning more than 10 matches in a row and also destroying Tipsarevic yesterday.

I'm keeping my expectations low for this match.

HI guys. Do any of you know whether he plays Ortisei Challenger this year again or not? I am planning to go there if I have the time. Been to a few ATP tournaments, but the players are not approachable at all. Heard it's much easier to get in contact with them at smaller events.

iirc he said he will try to play it again this year. Of course, it will depend on his fitness and how the season progresses for him but I would say there's a pretty solid chance he will be there, it's his backyard after all and a very special tournament for that reason. I guess we will know, for sure, with a month or so of anticipation, but if I had to bet on it, my money would be on his presence! nothing beats finishing the tennis season at home
