He seems like a pretty cool guy. If he wants to keep his sexuality secret I have no problem with that. Isn't relevant to his tennis playing anyway.

He's a cool guy. I had the chance to talk to him a little bit and I'm just telling you he's not gay. I wish he were though.

Did you ask him if he's gay?

Re: The gay male player speculatron
Obviously Jan Michael Gambill is gay the cruise with Elton John, the gay porn star Dolph Lambert, and Elton's husband was all male. It was obvious before and even more obvious now. Disappointed that Gambill won't officially come out of the closet as a gay man. Orlando Cruz came out and so did Robbie Rogers.

This is almost evidence.

Yup every man on that boat is gay extremely clear and obvious.

'If [an openly gay player] wanted to practice with other players, they would say, 'No thanks, I don't want to be associated with you,' because people would think they were gay also,' he says. One pro tennis insider isn't surprised by Francisco's assessment. 'The locker room can be a lonely place. For all the camaraderie, it can be isolating,' he says. '[A gay player] is always going to be subject to snide comments. Naked bodies are involved. You know, there are still people who think you can get AIDS off a toilet seat.'
Francisco says just being suspected of being gay means hearing homophobic comments on court. 'During the heat of battle -- as a last resort -- opponents, when they get irritated, go to that. They would call me 'faggot' or 'sissy.' ' How did they know he was gay? They didn't -- but he never had a girlfriend and never talked about girls. 'Tennis players like to have a girlfriend there all the time,' he says.
According to Francisco, being gay is also a potential competitive disadvantage. 'This is the talk in the locker room: If a male player has to play a guy who is [perceived to be] gay, they automatically assume he is weak and they have a mental advantage. When they see who they are playing, they say, 'Oh, he's a sissy, you can't lose to him,' ' he says.

No offense but I take the Out Magazine article with a grain of salt this guy Francisco Rodriguez wasn't a good tennis player.
I find it extremely disappointing that Out Magazine interviewed someone RANKED SO LOW. It would have been better if a more higher ranked player a gay male tennis player who actually had some decent results was interviewed.
The challenger circuit is NOT the ATP Tour, those guys on the challenger circuit are on the fringes of men's professional tennis they aren't on the main tour.
I would rather hear from a gay male tennis player who actually was in the real thick of things someone in the TOP 100 or higher.
This guy wasn't even a journeyman he was such a minor figure in men's tennis.
The guy didn't even make it to the ATP top 100. I would prefer to read articles by openly gay male athletes who are actually GOOD. This guy is ranked so low he would not even get into a qualifying event for a grand slam.

Lol, do you really think that a gay tennis player ranked so high will come out. And if Out magazine can get a better player, don't you think they would like that even more. I think among tennis players they know who is who, but they don't even talk about it.
