 Really?
I expected Meffert to win, but I'm surprised Martin, Gojowczyk and Mertl lost. And I'm not just saying that because they were the top four seeds. Teixeira shouldn't be beating Mertl indoors. I know Knittel has nice memories from this tournament, but Gojowczyk really ought to win this kind of match at this stage of his career. Cervenak is a better player than Martin, but Martin was in great form and having watched the match, should have won.

Knittel is quite solid and Gojowczyk is as erratic as they come, so I think it's a bad match-up. I do think Gojowczyk is the better player with greater potential, but him losing is always pretty likely.
Mertl is a senseless ball-basher and Teixeira is a cunning fighter, who is also the much more talented player. Mertl has some good weeks each year, but is crap for the rest.
Didn't watch the Cervenak match, but Pavol always does well in Germany and is the better player. I must say I did forget about Martin's run in Nouméa, but at the same time Nouméa has rarely been a good benchmark.

Struff walksover de Schepper 6:3 6:2...
...nice win, Struff gave away only 6 points at own service, faced not a single BP, but converted 4 of 5!

Really sad to see Stebe retire, guess he's still not over his injuries.

Re: Week 4: Heilbronn (Entry List)
Stebe looked perfectly healthy, his retirement came as a surprise for me. Probably he was frustrated after losing the first set where he didn't play bad but lost all the big points and was very unlucky at that set ball he missed at 5-4 40-30.
Congrats to Adi for hangin'on with his serve, but he might wanna raise his level on return a little bit if wants to beat Struff in second round.
