If you don't care about tennis, than you probably shouldn't be on this site, and you most definitely shouldn't be in this thread.

Disgusting stuff, Stanislas should've won today but the courts and umpiring is rigged to prevent clowns like Djokovic from ever losing a match before SF.

10 years ago people were crying "Slow down the courts or the sport will die."

What did you think? Serbtards don't care about tennis, they're merely flagholders.

Re: Grinding wins agains, speed up the courts or the sport will die.
Courts used to be a good balance, each surface had its own quirks and suited different types of players. The French Open champ would regularly bomb out in R1 or R2 of Wimbledon, and vice versa. There would be different SF lineups at every Slam (often with an unseeded specialist making a big run).
Variety is the spice of life. If you didn't like defensive baseliners, then as soon as the clay court season finished it was grass season and S&V. If you didn't like S&V, then the North American hardcourts and the offensive baseliners were up next. The same players would meet twice in a matter of weeks, and would play vastly different matches (often with a different favourite) simply because it was a different surface.
Nowadays you play pretty much the same game on every surface and pretty much everyone plays to their seedings until at least the second week. It's fucking boring.

You are American, right?
"Have went" is not a proper verb construction. It's "have gone." Go, went, gone. I find this error cropping up even among news commenters. I'm fighting a one woman war against it. /digression
I find this argument is all about whose ox is being gored. Also, Fed doesn't like fast courts. Basel slowed the court for him.
Personally, I don't like fast courts. Australia has a faster court this year and especially Laver is faster or so everyone is saying. But, I don't find that Wawa is particularly a fast court player.

Well you're a Nadal fangirl of course you're not gonna like fast courts cause he can't win on them.

Re: Grinding wins agains, speed up the courts or the sport will die.
I disagree. The only reason this was a 5 setters was because the courts are faster. I think they should be even faster. But this has nothing to do with tonight's match. Nole did make great shots at match point and other points. Stan just missed his chance. That's all. But yes. Speed up the court. There is no reason one should hit 10 winners to win one point

Re: Grinding wins agains, speed up the courts or the sport will die.
you know caesar, that's very original post, I've never heard that argument before.
or maybe, just maybe, someone clever figured out that it's going to get ridiculous with 140+ mph serves on courts as fast as they were before? maybe? do you really miss watching someone practicing serves for few hours?

Re: Grinding wins agains, speed up the courts or the sport will die.
The way i see it...
Ao & USO should be Medium paced courts. Don't particularly favour any style. If possible, you could have one thats medium fast, and one that is medium slow
Wimbledon should be fast, which favours offensive tennis
RG should be Slow, which favours defensive tennis

Re: Grinding wins agains, speed up the courts or the sport will die.
I am actually the one who like fast courts, serve and volleying and so and I would like to watch more tennis on fast courts, but to be honest nobody cares about bunch of whiners in a forum. Rocketassist was right when he said "orgasmic reaction of the crowd is one of the key´s reason of slowing down". Certain masses still love to watch these grindfests between TOP players, it´s thrilling for them. Nadal - Djokovic matches are popular if you like it or not. The other reson is that some of the TOP players themselves wanted to slow down the courts. So, players are satisfied, organizers are satisfied because they sell a lot of tickets and certain masses are satisifed too. The sport will not die, I am actually affraid slow courts will be "popular" even more. You are lying to yourself if you think tennis will become less popular because of this and this is coming from a person who don´t like slow conditions.
