I'm terrified about this. Nishikori is such a bad match up for Ferru, and he hasn't looked very good here so far.

Really want Nishikori to make the SF but I don't know if he'll be able to do it today -_- At least I'll be able to watch this live! Stupid time difference.

Ferrer is too solid. He will grind Nishi down into the ground until he is six feet under.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you either misunderstood what I wrote or simply didn't read it.

When did I compare Kei's performance to Ferrer's?

I did not say that Ferrer is a defensive player. These days, he tries to take initiative when he can. His problem, though, is that he lacks the natural firepower (perhaps stature, too) to simply bang balls from feet behind the baseline in the manner that guys like Tsonga and Berdych do. No, his brand of offense relies mostly on positioning, and point construction (repetition).

Nishikori is a similarly small guy, so he, too, can have a hard time dictating a point without playing the ball early. It is a mistake, however, to say that he's defensive because of that.

That's where I compared the two. Not in performances. Though if you want to do that, let's get real, Baghdatis played like shit in their meeting, so you're not impressing anyone with those numbers.

Too much to address on things I don't care all that much about, but this sort of says it all.

So Davy's win over Ferrer either comes down to an anomaly or Ferrer underperforming? There's no chance that Davy simply plays him well, or was the better man on that day?

Whether you realize it or not, your whole post basically excused Ferrer from every loss he suffered to someone outside the top three.

That's too many exceptions to even be taken seriously.
