This reminds me about a contest between the Norwegian female football team, which once did a practice match with a local club U16 boys' team ahead of the World Championship finals. In the first half the boys were winning easily. In the half-time break their coach tried to explain to the boys a few things, primarily this: These women were off to fight for a World Championship for Norway - try to make sure all of them will be able to participate. A chastised, more polite gang of boys duly lost the 2nd half. Technically, they were markedly inferior, when unable to tackle like they usually do they didn't stand a chance.

Is anyone reading the TF equivalent to this thread?

I'm reading the replies from that Sharapova fanatic like this

we have this argument all the time here - how far down would the England ladies Football team have to go to match Male teams? The consensus is that skill-wise they would be superior at Conference North/South (i.e. the 6th tier) but physically they'd have to go at least another 3 or 4 divisions further down.

She didn't defeat anybody, it was a hitting/warmup session. If this was an official match, for cash and points, then sharapova gets smoked.

Thread title needs changed; she didn't mention any score for the match against the Aus junior champ (Saville), just said the set took too long to finish.

The guy she beat was 16.

No score is mentioned cuz there is no score!

The match wasn't finished since Sharapova quit (technically a retirement)

So at the end of the day WTA's №2 didn't beat even a 16 year old junior!

Ergo this entire thread is a phony hoax.

Would be impressive if she was competitive against Saville. Time hasn't frozen, the guy will be 19 next month. Despite his baby face

Lol at her "not finishing" the other set. Translation, she was getting her cheeks clapped by a junior boy.

Anybody see Verdasco serving to ivanovic in the Hopman Cup? He was hitting 3/4 pace slice serves and not only could she not return any of them she was actually swinging and missing. Anyone who has played tennis at an even remotely high level or who is at least intellectually honest knows that women's tennis is as far behind men's as soccer and basketball. It is not even close and I lol at those indoctrinated by feminist propaganda that women are as athletically capable as men.

Do you people even play?

Rather than talking fiction or "theory" as some people on here, i will present you some facts that i know:

Mark Hlawaty used to hit with both Williams sisters during their Australian tours and fix them up in sets very easily 6-0, 6-1, 6-2 there abouts....

You can view his ITF profile here:

http://www.itftennis.com/ProCircuit/...yerID=10000609

Mark Shanahan never had an ATP ranking and used to fix up Samantha Stosur easily 6-2s and 6-1s in practise sets at the Australian Open. Yet everyone still talks about how Stosur "plays like a man" (more like a 16-17 year old boy rather than a man)

You can view his profile here:

http://www.itftennis.com/ProCircuit/...erID=100055336

Joel Kerley used to win practise sets against Alicia Molik 6-0, 6-1 there abouts, When Molik was Top 10 and Kerley was 17-18 years old. Kerley was a Talented junior who had match points against Monfils in the AO Juniors one year but quit tennis when he was like 19 years old and 600 in the world.

You can view his profile here:

http://www.itftennis.com/ProCircuit/...erID=100015380

My point is, These women are STRUGGLING TO GET GAMES! let alone "WINNING"!!

Aside from that, i know several "club" level male players who never held an ATP ranking were beating "WTA players" ranked 200-300 WTA in practise matches in my local area. The girls never used to like it either cause they thought they were big timers until they got brought back down to earth.

Why do you think Serena has that Sasha guy as a hitting partner who was only ever like 1100 ATP ? If he wasn't good enough and capable of match it with her, surely she would get someone higher...

To add to the great post above, davenport, when she was #1 in the world conceded her husband was better than her.

There are people out there living in a fantasy world for sure. I mean, there are fans of the women's game that honestly believe Serena can actually beat a top male once in a while. Scary.

I watch, and enjoy, women's tennis but to compare it to men's game is laughable.

The top women are great athletes for sure but no way can they compete with men. You cannot overcome the way the sexes evolved differently.

Look, if the sycophants believe the women can compete, let them just disband the WTA tour and have one tennis tour for everybody, then at year end we can see the ranking and the records of the women.

Let's see how the women, that wont get direct entry or qualify for the main draws, do in the challengers and the futures.

I will laugh when the women who get wild cards in the main draws win about 10 points in a 3 set match.

You see, when rankings points and cash are on the line, the men will not be holding back.

I think Serena could beat some weak players outside the top 1000 (those who usually win less than 15% of main draw futures matches).

Above top 800, I think is very tough for them. A 800th ranked plaer is usually a tough competitor in futures that plays competitively against challenger players and take games from atp players. Serena cant beat those.
