Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread
here's an interview with david:

i'm not going to do word for word, i'll give you the basic points:
Q1: asks him why he's playing in brisbane. He says that he wanted to get used to the conditions before the australian open
Q2: he just talks about how this is the first time he'll play the australian.mentions he's been there as a spectator before and that hos coach will join him in aukland
Q3 and Q4: talks about things he's done to prepare during the off season, going into more detail in question 4. He's tried to build muscle. also worked on his serve and his forehand
Q5: talks about his goals for the season.wants to solidify his place in the top 50 but there's nothing specific other than that. doesnt want to put alot of pressure on himself. wants to do well at the grand slams. Not sure on the last part but i think he says he'd like to make the quarterfinal at wimbledon
Q6: reporter just mentions how there will be more pressure and more eyes on him this season. David is aware of that . he's ready for it. he had a great year last season and he wants to have another one like it

Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread
Well he lost to Melzer in straights. It really seemed winnable on paper and the stats were pretty close.
Kinda sad but its just the start of the year.

Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread
Lost to Bellucci 6-7 2-6 first round in Auckland. Didn't watch the match.
What do you guys think he needs to work on to help him stay consistent on tour level? He has to add equipment in his arsenal to back up his amazing talent. I really wouldn't like to see our man to become a journeyman player and I certainly don't want another crash out at the first round of AO. Hope Goff knows his fans care.

Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread
AO draw is out!
Goffin got Verdasco in the first round. I hope he plays his heart out and leaves it all there whatever the result may be. Good luck, Goff!

Re: David Goffin Cheering Thread
Lost in five. Was two sets and a break up.
Like the rest of you who've stopped posting here, I think I too will step out for a bit and wait till he knows he's got to take his game seriously. He's twenty two now, no more goofing around. Three early losses in the beginning of the year. Losing matches he should be winning. Enough whining from me.
I'm out of here till he begins to perform.
