What he "should" do is only doing his best : if he loses, let it be, Fed is no God.

PS : I admit that I had made a mistake on your message about Raonic and Tsonga . Had only seen "Raonic is a tough draw".
Doesn't matter dude. But whining about his draw will only feed stuff for the Fed haters. I mean of course he can always lose, that streak is not gonna end forever.

And in term of matchups he should really own all his opponents till the SFs. It's not like he has Simon in R3 again, DelPo (who has won the last 2 matches) in QF etc etc.

I want him to give his all too, that's all we can ask. But I'm sure he will. Since he has been getting older maybe gamewise he decreased but his fighting spirit has been better in my honest opinion. He rarely gives up these days so I'm hopeful he is hungry and motivated enough to go for it another time in Oz.

at the moment you're just parting with them, "dude".

Besides, it's quite funny that it's Fed-haters who treat Fed like a God, who would be "invulnerable" (except that they praise Berdych like crazy for whatever reason )

Even having fighting-spirit, he sometimes has bad days when he shanks a lot and he has to rely on luck as he did in many of his matches against Davydenko.

I hope he'll teach Tomic few lessons
I'm not taking it on djokovic. Apart from his primal reactions of shirt ripping and placard bashing I kind of like his game. Djokovic - Roger matches are always entertaining.

Let me break it down for you.
The only hard draw he got is getting Murray instead of Ferru, and that was always a 50-50 shot.

First round Paire shouldn't be a problem
Second round Davydenko; Davy couldn't even beat Fed in his prime in a best of 5 so why would he do that now?
Tomic in 3rd, yes he improved but Fed will still beat him.
Raonic/Kohli in 4th, is a difficult draw but Australian Open courts aren't super fast so Fed will deal with Rao's serve first. And Rao's form this year seems to suck donkey d*ck.

Tsonga in QF is always better than having DelPo/Berdych. Tsonga is not fully fit so I doubt he will make it. Gasquet makes it to QFs? Gasquet only has reached 1 SF and almost lost to Zemlja/Davy in Doha. No worries there either.
This.

This thread is ridiculous.

You think there is anyone in Fed's quarter who thought, "Awesome! So glad I'll be playing Roger."

There is no one in his quarter that is going to beat him. He'll have to have an bad day to drop 3 out of 5 sets to anyone before the SF.

What Roger does from the SF stage on is debatable...but please, pencil Fed into the SF now. Put Nole in the Final. Also looking forward to a Delpo-Murray QF that should be awesome.

again, I don't think Fed can be stopped before semis. OK, I'm not as smart as Bodo or Gilbert, but hey . Fed is still very good and some guys here are talking about him as if he was my grandpa (85yo) who can hardly walk.

I do find this thread a bit silly and melodramatic.

I agree, Rogie will make at worst the SF. However I see him making at least the F vs. Djokovic and he has a good chance of winning it.

Default Re: Fed's QF streak has ended.

Roger has benefitted from difficult draws multiple times. His difficult AO 2010 draw made him sharp for the tail end of the tournament. In US Open 2012 he had a very easy draw and was not ready for Berdych in the quarters. Easy draws are not necessarily an advantage for the top guys.

As long as Roger can come through the first three rounds without having to play three five-setters in a row, I think this draw is good news for Roger. Raonic has not looked good so far this year. I do not see him beating Roger in best of five sets. Tsonga is semi-injured and was probably the best pick for Roger in the quarters. He was of course unlucky with Murray in his half, but remember that Murray has never beaten Roger in a slam.

Weren't you the one who jinxed him with that prayer to the draw gods thread Every time you want easy draws for him the direct opposite will happen. It is known.

There's been so such as a tough draw for a top player for the last 10 years. The only way it's a truly tough draw is if they get 2-3 bogey players before the SF and that is basically impossible unless you're Andy Murray.

Can he straight set Tomic again and then lose before the quarters?
