Re: 2013 Cheering Thread
Benny is a terrible match-up for him. Ryan was not playing good tennis but still better than the match he played against Robredo.
I would like to see a stat of how many times in the past 2 years has he started out the match losing serve. He is such a slow starter it's not even funny anymore.
He was once the "intelligent player", but now and days his shot selection is just cringe-worthy. Also, his groundstrokes are still very underwhelming for a player of his ranking level. He is lost, he needs a REAL coach, he needs REAL help.

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread
Typical Harrison - mental checkout! The only reason he beat Isner was because if his ailing knee. Harrison is far too inconsistent to ever be a top 30 player. Here comes another disappointing season for him.

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread
That's great. Australian Open. 1st Round Girado, 2nd Round Djorkovic/Mathieu. Really great.

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread
Well he never had much luck with slam draws to begin with. And with his current form, doubt he will go far anyway. Good luck Ryan, try your best.

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread
Well there aren't a lot of players in the main draw he won't have problems playing against. Be grateful he isn't playing a seeded player in the first round.

He lost to Giraldo before so I won't be surprised if he loses.

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread
Ryan ends his losing streak against Giraldo 26 64 75 64. Not pretty, but a win is a win.

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread
That was some world class pushing. The only positive thing coming from this match is that it finally brought some fire out of him.

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread
well, for me, the fact that he could keep being cool and collect himself after the disastrous 1st set was a progress (at least mentally).
I almost gave up watching this game after the 1st set...

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread
At least he will pick up plus ATP points as he had none to defend. Anyone have any photos of him from Australia either match or practice? This board is lacking recent photos of him.

Re: 2013 Cheering Thread
Is this why they broke up? No reason was ever given concerning their separation. What about his academy in Texas? Sad for his longtime students like Harrison Adams

Many more former players have been hired as coaches, among many more coaches hired, full stop. Grant Doyle is among the latest batch, returning from a successful career in the US to work with former junior Wimbledon champion Luke Saville and runner-up Ben Mitchell in Melbourne. Australian No. 2 Marinko Matosevic has been particularly vocal in his endorsement of the benefits of working with someone who has been there before.

I'm told Ryan Harrison is waiting in the wings for US #daviscup team should Isner not be fully recovered from his knee injury. #tennis
