Those rumours were stupid. Sharapova simply used to train at that academy when she was much younger and she was barely legal when the rumors started. They're good friends but nothing more, and she even went back there after completing her career grand slam for a special presentation.

This was actually first confirmed by the "zootennis" person when she was at the Bolletieri academy. She said that everyone knew and it was far from a secret, so he's late and could have been tipped off by anyone. Dimitrov was asked about it after the Murray match and his response ("I don't talk about my personal life") pretty much confirmed it.

If this was really a PR relationship, they would likely be doing whoring the media like Wozniacki and McIlroy.
