This is done even by Andy Murray. The genius of the Auckland shot is its direction, surprise factor and preciseness.
He takes the guy "contre-pied" and makes it a winner, just wow

It's a fun shot, but the shot of the year to me is a moment of genius in the most important of situations.
As much as I find Paire entertaining, this is the kind of shot you can practice down at your local club.

neither is last year's best shot.
it's not about difficulty, rather ingenuity and result imo
what i love is that it was taken as a volley, without bounce and mostly that it became an absolutely irretrievable winner.
It just caught Lu so off guard, going in the opposite direction and everything, just perfect shot.
Ofc many more will be coming from Benoit, so the tittle here is exaggerated  |
