Well it's pretty doubtful that either will win a major, Dimi has a tiny chance though, Tomic 0, Dimi is the better player period and always will be.

grigor all the way. tomic's head is too big, both literally and metaphorically.

That is (sadly) very often a required quality to win at the highest level (see Djoker or even Federer).

Maybe I missed something, but when did Dimitrov and Tomic win titles?
(it could change today with Dimitrov of course).

Also, has Tomic actually been in an ATP final?

Both have potential but we will see if it amounts to anything. Not too bd so far. But they really need to step it up. Very different playing styles. Each interesting in their own way.

Both are horribly overrated.

I will wait till one of them actually achieves something before I waste my time and effort putting an opinion together.

context is everything.

Was a response to a post including Raonic and Nishikori.

As for ppl saying none of them will win Slams - if they don't, then i don't see who will in 4 years from now for example.

A magic Jesus like player will emerge from somewhere and win them all?

From what i saw in Brisbane final today i am even more certain that in a matter of months (OK, maybe 24 of them..) one of them will be up there close.

And at one point they will start getting those tittles.

As i said - Dimitrov did it as a junior, i don't see any reasons why not as a pro, considering he is transferring greatly.

Many players have peaked as juniors and been not so great pros.

Tomic will have a better career I think.

At the moment neither has the movement or fitness to get the best from their natural ability over sustained periods so both have a hell of a lot of work to do.

To get to the very top, you have to be a freakishly good athlete first and foremost. Neither is anything close right now but they both have time on their side.

Default Re: Dimitrov or Tomic?

I can see Tomic being a transitional champ b/w eras like LLeyton-Hewitt 2-3 GS's.

To me Dimitov has the potential to be a multiple GS winner but i fear he'll end up more gasquet than Federer but lets see i hope he wins slams he has a lovely game and seems a nice guy.
