no problem I understand and it happens to me quite often, only problem is that you didn't know this thread here where your comment would have been most suitable, and the main problem is the merge imo.

Personally I don't really care what some people behind their computer dream what the schedule could be,
but what the Tour will really be in 2014-2015 I'm very concerned by it
Isn't there a big difference between what people want and the reality ?
And this topic will come back in one month : we will probably know the new schedule : what are mods going to do then ? still mixing the real schedule with all of the fantasy schedules ?

This. EXACTLY this.
Terrible merge. A thread about what people think the tour should be and a thread about what the ATP said the tour will be.

Sergiy Stakhovsky @Stako_tennis
I don't really like that ATP is buying tournaments and putting them out of calendar without talking to players....

can anybody translate what he means ?
About the Los Angeles to Bogota transaction, the ATP didn't buy anything : they just accepted the transaction between owners.

it was about Belgrade :
http://www.menstennisforums.com/show...37&postcount=1
Stakhovsky just said it via Twitter.
"Dear fans its a great shame but there will be no ATP tournament in Belgrade....this week will be empty..and I hope it's only this year.."
"I don't really like that ATP is buying tournaments and putting them out of calendar without talking to players.."
"There are many countries interested to have ATP event..but they where not invited to buy Belgrade..sigh))"

I believe Rome/Madrid were looking at turning into 96 draws, to do so they'd probably need to open up a week on the calendar in Belgrade's slot.

it wouldn't change anything as there are Estoril and Munich the same week.
But anyway there's a specific thread now (linked above) about that Belgrade cancellation and it would be better to talk about it there

What would your ideal ATP calender consist of?
If we keep the same basic format, i.e. 4 Slams, 9 Masters and the Tour Finals, what events would you like to see? In terms of location, surface, court speed, etc.
For me:
Australian Open - medium-slow HC
Roland Garros - slow clay (slower than it has been in the past few years)
Wimbledon - fast grass (a lot quicker than it's become over the past decade)
US Open - medium-fast HC
Tour Finals - fast HC
-----
As for the Masters, I'd switch some around. Ideally make Dubai a 1000 event and Halle/Stuttgart as a grass masters (before Wimbledon) which I think is sadly missing from the calendar. Not sure which I'd get rid of though to make it all fit in the season

Re: What would your ideal ATP calender consist of?
One thing the tour needs its more big tournaments on grass, atleast 1 or 2 masters before wimbledon, the rest it's ok for me

Re: What would your ideal ATP calender consist of?
A grass Masters would be a great idea. Take away one of the North American hard-court maybe or even make it a nice round 10 per season.

Re: What would your ideal ATP calender consist of?
Agree with a Grass M100 event, definitely an obvious omission from the calendar. Would speed up the grass and US Open a little bit, Aus Open and Rolland Garros would stay the same to keep a balance.
