Due time for DELPO to step-up and get that 4th spot soon, hopefully he meets Ferrer in the Quarters.

Re: Nadal OUT of the Australian Open
If he retired now, would he be remembered more for winning 11 slams, or for losing his last ever match to a qualifier at WImbledon :L

yes, but the fact is that Nadal's team's communication has never been transparent and readable since that all started, sometimes looked amateur as well with contradictory words from different sources, which easily allows for all kinds of rumours to spread.
Maybe they had no choice, I don't know, but I would prefer it differently.

Yup, exactly. Of course, he wouldn't be the favorite for the title, but so what... does he really have to be the favorite to enter a slam?

Re: Nadal OUT of the Australian Open
If he learnt to schedule properly we wouldn't be having these discussions.
It's his own fault.

Re: Nadal OUT of the Australian Open
While Nadal will be missed, the AO will still have plenty of stars. Federer, Djokovic and Murray are there (so far); Berdych and Del Potro will probably have a deep run.

What will Nadal's points / rank be after AO-13?

Get well, Nadal, so that Fed can blame you for losing again.

It was never in doubt that Heya would find the esential stuff in Nadull's withdraw.

The way I understood it was that the virus was nothing significant by itself, but it's killed his prep time. Given he was already 50/50 on withdrawing for the AO, from the comments to Harman above, it would seem to be the final straw that made the decision for him.
