Your expectations for Federer in 2013.
I will edit the OP later and give my views since I have to go to bed now. But lets here it from MTF. What is your expectations for the greatest ever in 2013, at age 31? Haters be careful not to make the same mistake that you have made the last 5 years.
Discuss.

Re: Your expectations for Federer in 2013.
I hope he will win another slam, I hope it will be AO or RG.
N1 will be nice but I don't care about it after the record

Re: Your expectations for Federer in 2013.
Federer is probably the toughest player to predict. At some point, he will have to hit a significant decline (he will turn 32 next year), but it's impossible to predict when. With significant I mean ceasing to be a permanent top 5 player and Slam SF feature - he will never cease to be a top 10 player as long as he's healthy even after 35+ yo.
In 2013, he could either win another Slam and remain in contention for #1 or not reach a single Slam final and struggle to stay in the top 3/4. It's just impossible to predict: on the one hand, he'll become 32; on the other hand, he's Federer.... I certainly wouldn't rule out another Slam, especially if Nadal doesn't come back to his best.

Re: Your expectations for Federer in 2013.
It would be great if he won the USO.
Realistically, he should win 4-5 tournaments, and if that includes a major, its a bonus.

Re: Your expectations for Federer in 2013.
Probably the least likely, but if he could get another RG title, I think that would cement his place in history for at least a very long time.
That being said though, I still think he will pick up 1 slam title. Getting back to number 1? Probably not. He did exceptionally well at the Master Series events this year where he has struggled since 2007, so logically I don't see him really picking too many points from those events.

Not sure on slams, probably not but don't count him out. Will win 3/4 Masters titles most likely all on hard ones,

Re: Your expectations for Federer in 2013.
Realistically and objectively, Basel and Rotterdam should be his main targets for the year. Extending his QF streak at the slams should be possible as well. And if he's lucky, he might sneak in a win over Rusty Rafa in the beginning of the year to show his true GOATness.
My say? Basel, Rotterdam, maybe Paris/Cinci, #4 ranking.

Re: Your expectations for Federer in 2013.
I hope he wins AO then maybe if he doesn't RG then WI and the least i like him to win from the slams is UO ...
1- AO cause if he wins it it is 5th title and Djokovic would not win more than 2 thus ending both with 5 ! (but just for Djokovic missing the record 3 consecutive)
2- RG cause he'll then have 2 titles from every slam and that is incredible !
3- Wimbledon cause that'll be his 8th and this record won't be touched never.
4- And last USO .. it'll be cool just cause he'll increase his GSs to 18.

Re: Your expectations for Federer in 2013.
I'm totally confident he can make some BIG DOMMAGE next year.
I've seen him making amazing, amaaaazing shots in the exhos. I know, they're just exhos, but i'm confident.

Sounds like your predictions for him in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

Re: Your expectations for Federer in 2013.
I have no expectations at all tbh. I agree with Lenders that Federer is hard to predict. He has been on and off for the last few years, and 2012 was a superb year for him. I don't think his level will be that high. I would never underestimate him at Wimby or any fast court, but I don't expect him to win anything.

This is expectations not hopes.... he isn't going to win all Slams this year, and if he does I'll eat a hat and record it on here.

Not really, last years version was as shown below. In other words, GSM is predicting a better year for Fed in 2013 than in 2012
